The #1 lawn myth we’d like to officially retire?

“I’ll just seed it in the spring.”

Nope. Your lawn has a better idea.

For Lafayette, late summer into early fall is prime time for seeding. So if your lawn is looking a little thin or patchy, this is your sign.

And yes, we’re already scheduling.

Get on the aeration + seeding schedule now so you’re not the one calling us later saying, “Wait… are you booked?”

Brown spots are your lawn’s way of saying, “Something’s wrong.”

But what?

Lawn disease can be tricky because the symptoms often look a lot like drought stress, insect damage, or other lawn problems. And when the diagnosis is wrong, it’s easy to spend time and money treating something that was never the real issue.

Swipe through to meet 3 common lawn diseases and find out why playing lawn doctor isn’t always as easy as it looks.

Transformation Tuesday! 🌱

This is what we mean when we say lawn care is a process!

A healthy, thick lawn isn’t created with one application. It takes proper nutrition, w**d control, good cultural practices, and consistency throughout the seasons.

Seeing where this lawn started compared to where it is today makes all that work worth it. 💚

Whew...is it fall yet?

It may still be very much summer outside, but your lawn is already looking ahead to cooler days. And those bare spots? Yep, we see them too. 👀

Keep mowing tall at 3–4 inches, stay on top of late-summer w**ds and lawn insects, and take note of any thin or bare areas that need some extra attention. Now is the time to start planning for aeration and overseeding to help fill those spots and encourage a thicker, healthier lawn.

Your lawn has worked hard all summer. Give it a game plan for its fall comeback.

Need a hand? Shades of Green can help get your lawn back on track.

Your lawn is hungry... so more fertilizer, right?

Not so fast.

When summer turns up the heat, piling more onto your lawn’s plate isn’t necessarily doing it a favor. Sometimes good lawn care is knowing when to put down the fertilizer scoop.

Swipe through to see why summer calls for a lighter menu.

Uh oh…are those brown spots new?

If lawn fungus has already decided to crash your summer, it’s not too late to apply fungicide. But here’s the catch: fungicide works best as prevention, before disease gets the chance to settle in and spread.

Indiana’s warm, humid weather can be prime time for lawn disease, so getting ahead of it is always easier than playing defense later.

Your lawn can’t tell you what it needs. Good thing a lawn pro can.

Thin spots? Compacted soil? Grass that just refuses to fill in? A pro can spot what’s holding your lawn back and recommend the right next step, whether that’s aeration, overseeding, or simply giving it what it needs at the right time.

Less guessing. More “okayyy, look at my lawn!” 😎

Less w**ds. More grass. A healthier lawn.

This lawn has made some serious progress! With consistent fertilizer and w**d control applications, we’ve been able to reduce w**d pressure while giving the turf the nutrients it needs to thicken up and thrive.

We love seeing results like these! 🌱
