The start of the 1969 season was the first time brakes were allowed in competition. The rule was met with mixed reviews. Dick Mann said it was brought on by 2-stroke shorttrack domination, and was meant to be more fair for 4strokes, but for years he was an advocate to add brakes. Gene Romero said he didn’t care, cause he doesn’t use em anyways. Mert Lawwill said he hated the rule, and was never in favor of brakes. What’s your thoughts? Do you use YOUR brakes?
