It dawned on me this morning that we are like birds. There are song birds, singing or acting or painting or writing.
Then there are the family birds. All they want is a safe place to raise their family and food for growth.
And then, the Grackles. Politicians all. They don’t care who they chase off the feeder and are never filled. They need more than they are entitled to have.
And then there are the Red/Wing Blackbirds and Woodpeckers. They don’t care what the Grackles want. There is one feeder and a family waiting, so they charge into the foray, not caring if they get hurt, as long as their way of life is stable.
So my question of the day. Which are you? Songbird, family seeker, or or Grackle? Maybe you are a woody or a redwing. Good for you!! The only way to knock a Grackle off the feeder is to make it clear we aren’t going anywhere!! Our country is pretty much the same right now.
