🐾 BIG DOG OF THE QUARTER 🐾
Please join us in congratulating Samantha Hiller of Lake Forest Fire Department, our latest Big Dog recipient!
Samantha represents what this award is all about — service, leadership, and going above and beyond both inside and outside of the fire service. From her work as a firefighter paramedic to her commitment to developing the next generation of EMS professionals, she continues to make a meaningful impact on her department and the community she serves.
Earlier this year, Samantha also represented on a global stage as a referee at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy — officiating at the highest level of international hockey.
Even more meaningful, she recognized the team behind that achievement, delivering a heartfelt speech acknowledging the support of her fellow firefighters who helped make that moment possible.
As part of this recognition, Samantha will receive:
🔥 A custom Big Dog leather bucket — a symbol of service, courage, and commitment
🎓 An Illinois Fire Service Institute waiver for up to 16 hours of training at an Illinois Fire Service Institute
☕ Fire Dept. Coffee, proudly firefighter-owned and operated — because great service deserves great coffee
Samantha’s impact extends far beyond the calls she responds to. Through EMS training, mentoring paramedic students, and serving as a preceptor, she is helping shape the future of emergency services while continuing to serve at the highest level.
We’re proud to recognize leaders like Samantha who strengthen their departments, elevate those around them, and represent their communities with excellence — both locally and on the world stage.
👏🚒 Thank you and Congratulations from all of us at
