Is your home prepared for the freezing temps?

In the South, we aren’t used to cold weather so it is important to educate ourselves on how to keep our homes and pets safe during colder temperatures.

1. Locate your water shut off
Do you know where your main water shut-off valve is located? Knowing this information is vital during emergency situations. Make sure to keep it free of debris and obstacles as well. For the majority of homeowners, this valve is located on the side of the water meter at the meter box.

2. Cover those exterior faucets & hose bibs
Make sure to insulate all your water faucets and pipes on the exterior of your home or in drafty areas. You can find insulation covers at your local hardware and plumbing stores. If none are available, you can use blankets to cover them as well. Check your manufacturer recommendations for any tanked and tankless water heaters as well.

3. Keep that cold air out
Tightly close any doors or windows and seal all areas that could cause leaks.

4. BRING YOUR PETS INDOORS!
Your pets need to be brought inside. Make sure they have a warm place to sleep off the floor. If it’s too cold for you, it’s probably too cold for them.

Closing out 2024! 🏠🔨👷🏼‍♀️

What a journey & privilege it’s been to be a part of this Texas crew! From planning stages, to opening our doors to clients in May, to breaking ground on our first Texas home, to a new Design Center under construction…2024 was a huge milestone for our new division.

I can honestly say I’ve pushed and pulled myself in ways I didn’t know I could expand as an a person and employee. To be part of first expansion outside of Louisiana is something that I will always look back on as a pivotal and rewarding moment in my career.

To think this is just the beginning for this division is exciting! 2025 we are ready for you!
