Last night we had our 2025 season Holiday Party. We started the evening with a plated dinner from Najwa’s Catering at the Mayo Health Systems Event Center then headed over to watch the Maverick Men’s Hockey team get the W against Augustana!

The holiday parties are always a fun time to take a step away from the work environment, have fun, get to know everyone a little better& celebrate all of our hard working employees! Thanks to all who came to celebrate with us & for another great year.

Hayden took some time off last week from shop work to do some fishing. Henry told him he better bring some fish back for everyone to eat- and he did just that!

🔧 WE’RE HIRING: HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC 🔧

GM Contracting is looking for a skilled, self-motivated Mechanic to join our team! If you take pride in your work, can work independently, and enjoy keeping equipment running at its best, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:
• Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain construction equipment and trucks
• Work on excavators, loaders, dozers, pumps, saws, and support equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and welding repairs
• Keep an organized, efficient shop
• Make smart, cost-effective repair decisions
• Work independently while supporting a strong team environment

What We’re Looking For:
• 2+ years of mechanic experience or technical school training
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, welding, and electrical knowledge
• Self-motivated and dependable — able to manage tasks without constant supervision
• Someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and a clean shop
• Willingness to learn and communicate with teammates
• CDL Class A preferred (not required)
• Commitment to safety and reliability
