We received a call from the Barry County Community Foundation this week after a bat found its way indoors. 🦇

The bat ended up near the ceiling, where Adam was able to safely capture and remove it without injury to the bat or anyone in the building.

If you ever find a bat in your home or business and need help with removal, give us a call and we’ll be happy to help!

Woodchuck #7 in just 4 days... and we're still not done! 😳

These woodchucks had completely taken over this Lake Odessa-area property.

The damage included burrows tunneling under the home's foundation, beneath a propane tank, and throughout multiple areas of the yard.

This is one of the reasons we've chosen to use a flat weekly rate for woodchuck trapping. Before trapping begins, we can often get an idea of the level of activity, but it's rarely possible to know exactly how many woodchucks are using a property. Sometimes it's one, and other times it's a situation like this.

By charging a flat rate, homeowners know the cost upfront and don't have to worry about additional charges if multiple woodchucks are present.

While woodchucks may seem harmless, the extensive tunneling they create can cause serious issues around foundations, propane tanks, sheds, decks, and other structures.

🦇 You’ve had another bat inside your house… should you be concerned?

If you’ve had bats inside your living space more than once, it may be a sign that bats are roosting somewhere within the structure.

While bats provide tremendous benefits by consuming thousands of insects each night, they can create concerns when living inside homes, including:
• Potential rabies exposure
• Guano accumulation and associated health concerns, including histoplasmosis
• Bat bugs and other parasites
• Noise, odors, and ongoing bat activity inside the structure

The good news is that bats can be safely and humanely excluded from homes without harming them.

At Wild Out West Michigan LLC, we specialize in:
✅ Humane Bat Exclusion
✅ Professional Entry Point Sealing
✅ Ridge Vent Protection Systems
✅ National Bat Standards Certified
✅ Free Bat Inspections

Our goal is to protect both homeowners and wildlife by safely excluding bats from homes and professionally sealing the entry points they use to gain access.

🦝 Not the houseguest they were expecting…

Friday morning, a family discovered a raccoon inside their home and gave us a call after being referred by Barry County Central Dispatch.

Adam was able to safely contain and remove the raccoon, bringing some peace of mind back to the household.

Wildlife inside a home can be stressful, but helping homeowners through situations like these is exactly why we do what we do.

Thank you to this wonderful family for trusting us and supporting our small business, and for taking the time to leave such a kind review afterward!

Most people know we trap woodchucks… but did you know we can also help keep them from coming back?

A lot of homeowners are surprised to learn that even after a woodchuck is trapped and removed, another one can eventually move back into the same area if it’s left open underneath.

That’s why, for qualifying decks, porches, sheds, barns, and even homes, we also offer professionally installed dig barriers designed to help keep wildlife from digging back underneath long term.

Our barriers are installed to be clean, subtle, and effective, and are backed by a 3-year workmanship and materials guarantee against wildlife re-entry.

For the right properties, trapping combined with a professionally installed dig barrier can provide a long-term solution to help protect foundations and structures.

We’ve been a little quiet on here lately, but for a good reason, bat season has been in full swing!🦇

We’re working through our remaining spring spots and holding time for customers we’ve already met with.

After that, we’ll be scheduling for mid-August once maternity season ends and exclusions can be done safely again.

We’ll still be doing inspections and providing quotes now and throughout the summer, so feel free to reach out if you’re noticing any activity 👍

We’re really thankful for a completely booked spring bat season so far and appreciate everyone who’s trusted us with their home!

Introducing our newest mole trapper 🙌

I’ve been learning alongside Adam so I can jump in and help out with how busy things have been lately.

Most of you know I do most of the work behind the scenes, but I’ve been getting out in the field more and more and taking on more of the hands-on work.

I knew I’d enjoy it — it was just a matter of time before I started mole trapping on my own, and I’m really excited to be at that point.

It’s been so good getting out there and doing the work, and I’m loving every minute!

If moles are tearing up your yard, we’ve got you covered.

Our little crew stayed busy this weekend with the warmer weather 👍

Between bat work, mole jobs, and woodchucks… it’s finally that time of year again!

We wouldn’t have it any other way. We truly love what we do and the people we get to help.

If you’ve been noticing activity around your home, feel free to reach out.

Bat season is here, and this window doesn’t last long 🦇

Our spring bat schedule is already filling up as temperatures start to cooperate.

We wait until nighttime temps are consistently in the mid-40s so bats are active and able to exit, allowing us to safely exclude them from the home.

From there, all work needs to be completed before the end of May, when maternity season begins and restrictions go into place.

If work isn’t completed during this spring window, it has to wait until mid to late August.

All of our bat work is done using humane, legal methods. We are certified in Bat Standards through the National Wildlife Control Operators Association (NWCOA), and we never harm bats.

If you’ve been hearing or seeing bat activity, now is the time to get ahead of it.

We’re currently scheduling spring projects and offer free bat inspections and estimates, feel free to reach out if you’d like us to take a look.
