We just wrapped up this cabinet refinish and interior paint project in Southgate and couldn’t be more pleased with the results.
These oak cabinets were especially difficult. Years of water, grease,heavy use, and no handles caused significant damage to the clear coat. Once the clear coat is compromised the damage escalates.
Our remedy was to use two different industrial cleaning products with some acetone and a lot of elbow grease to get the doors in sandable condition.
Once they were sufficiently sanded, we used a 2-component clear isolator to help lock down any remaining grease that might be trapped in the oak pores and to provide the best adhesion of our coatings as possible.
