Kudos to our Project Engineer Aidan! Since joining P/K three years ago, he’s been a reliable and trusted team member who helps keep our projects on track supporting both structural and sitework scopes, currently for two data centers in Washington.

One of Aidan’s greatest strengths is his ability to build relationships with the people around him. Whether he's working with general contractors, trade partners or project teams, Aidan is willing and eager to connect with the right people and find solutions when challenges arise. His collaborative approach has helped create strong partnerships and solve problems quickly.

Aidan exemplifies P/K’s value “We give of ourselves to fulfill our purpose” through his dedication to flex in where needed and commitment to quality work. We know our Wenatchee projects are in good hands with him on the jobsite representing P/K. Thanks for all you do, Aidan! – John & Brandon D

Kudos to Merle, our Detailing Coordinator! Over the past 2.5 years, he’s become an invaluable resource by helping our project teams stay ahead of challenges through detailing, BIM coordination and proactive problem-solving. Whether Merle is supporting projects like Bull Run, Goodwill or other jobs across the Willamette Valley, he takes ownership of issues and stays with them until a solution is found.

Merle is especially skilled at managing complex coordination logistics and serving as the middleman between project partners to keep construction moving along seamlessly. He’s also been helping advance our use of cmBuilder and 4D scheduling, creating new ways to visualize logistics and support planning efforts.

Merle’s reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to finding solutions help create clearer communication, stronger planning and better outcomes for our projects. Thanks for all you do, Merle! – Zach

A safer construction industry starts with taking care of the people who build it. As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, let’s work together to keep:

• Encouraging colleagues & friends to seek support
• Living P/K’s value of caring for the safety & wellbeing of people
• Looking out for one another each day on the jobsite & beyond
• Normalizing sharing our experiences with people we trust
• Treating mental health the same way we treat physical safety

If you are struggling or know someone who is, you’re not alone. Help is available: Please text, call or chat 988 for 24/7 judgement-free support. There is hope!

May is almost over, but our shared responsibility of ensuring every worker returns home safely remains essential throughout the year.

Shoutout to Luke, Jamie and Cody from our Central Oregon team for showing up on a Friday afternoon to follow through on a promise made by P/K.

Last week the wife of a former employee who recently passed away reached out for help emptying a storage unit. Knowing she and her sister couldn't do the heavy lifting on their own, our team didn't hesitate to step in and keep P/K’s word to be there.

In a note afterward, “B” shared how overwhelmed she was by the crew's willingness to volunteer their time and how much their support eased her burden during a difficult season. She described their actions as a reflection of the caring culture that makes P/K feel like an extended family.

One of our core values is "We give of ourselves to fulfill our purpose," and this crew embodied that perfectly. Thank you for showing what it means to care for people both on and off the jobsite. - Max

We got a new toy… Our sitework division recently acquired a curb machine, which arrived in May!

Having this equipment will help expand our site concrete team's capabilities to compete for road expansion projects, subdivisions and larger parking lot work—among other jobs.

We look forward to the many opportunities ahead as our sitework business, fleet and team continue to grow!

Thanks to the Oregon Tradeswomen for hosting another successful Career Fair and to all the attendees who stopped by our table Friday!

Our sledgehammer hold was a hit once again… Students grip a hammer laterally between two bars and hold it for as long as possible. It’s a true test of strength and those who tried their hand at it (literally) were awarded with swag for participating.

We always have fun at this event and appreciate the opportunity to support it while sharing our love for working in the trades with students.

That’s a wrap! As another Construction Safety Week winds down, we’re proud to share some exciting progress from the past year…

Through ongoing implementation of our Heads Up Safety Program, which focuses on both being aware and taking action to keep people safe, we’ve had positive results. Compared to the same jobsite hours in 2025, our team has collectively experienced 19 fewer injuries, 3 less incidents and recordables have also been reduced.

Thanks again to our concrete crews, support staff, general contractors and project partners who collaborate to maintain safe, well-coordinated jobsites! By communicating, connecting and committing to stay accountable, we continue to look out for one another in the field and put work in place the right way to build trust.

Safety Week may be over, but our shared responsibility of ensuring every worker returns home safely remains essential throughout the year.
