I was installing a sash that I built today. I’ve restored every window in this little house, and while I was working, another contractor who was there working on the back deck asked me, “Are you the window lady?”
I smiled and said yes.
He was probably in his 60s, and he told me he had never seen old windows operate so smoothly. He said he didn’t even realize there were people who did this kind of work.
I told him that’s exactly why I’m trying to spread the word—and why I’ve started teaching others how to do it.
I left that house with the warm fuzzies and a big sense of pride in what I do. Sometimes you just need someone else to remind you that the work you’re doing really is special. ❤️
