This much ice on your refrigeration equipment is a warning sign, not something to ignore.

When an evaporator coil ices up like this, airflow becomes restricted and your system has to work harder to maintain temperature. That can mean reduced efficiency, poor performance, higher operating costs, and potentially a much bigger problem if the cause isn’t addressed.

Ice buildup can have several causes, including airflow restrictions, dirty components, refrigerant issues, or other system malfunctions. Removing the ice may solve the symptom temporarily, but finding why it froze in the first place is what matters.

Not every “replace it” diagnosis is the right one. 👏

A homeowner was told their 3-year-old A/C system had a bad compressor. They were quoted over $2,000 to replace it, and were ultimately advised to replace the entire unit instead.

Believe it or not, a dirty air filter can restrict airflow, make your system work harder, increase your electric bill, and even shorten the life of your unit.

A clean filter is one of the easiest (and cheapest!) ways to help keep your home cooler and your A/C running efficiently. We recommend checking it every month and replacing it every 1–3 months, depending on pets, allergies, and how often your system runs.
