Rowen Architecture is symbolic of a rowen field that produces two harvests from the same planting. We believe that the investment we make in each client and each project has the potential to produce two distinct, beautiful, interrelated outcomes. This involves the functionality of a space

that uniquely supports how a family operates; the composition of finishes and intentionality of craftsmanship that speak to the quality of a place; the materials, orientation, and building science that can honor the environment and benefit individual health; the beauty of light, nature, texture and color; and the exterior forms that engage with the community and contribute to the vernacular sense of place. The other “harvest” is intangible, one of authentic relationship. This outcome encompasses the value of thoughtful questions and intentional listening to deeply understand each aspect of a project; the ability to share a sense of belonging, value, and feeling known with each client; the unity that is fostered by a collaborative process between owner, architect, engineers, and craftsmen; the interwoven nature of individual, family, and community; and the way our lives display our values. Our Philosophy
We believe that architecture is a metaphor. The process and products of architecture have the ability to tell a story that is deeper than what is readily apparent. We listen intentionally because we believe you are worth being heard and understood, and there is embedded significance in what you have to say. We purposefully design your home to celebrate your uniqueness as an individual, and respect the physical and immaterial context that your home is woven within. We walk by your side from the start of your project to its finish to convey that you are not alone in the process, that you have an advocate and guide to help you flourish. In all these things, we apply our professional knowledge, gained through education, licensure, experience, and ongoing research, because we want to honor the significant investment you are making in your home.
