Today isn't about barbecues or the long weekend.

It's about the ones who didn't come home.

I spent years in the Marine Corps. I know what service costs. I know what it asks of people and their families.

Today I think about the ones I never got to meet. The ones who died before I ever put on a uniform. The ones whose sacrifice made mine possible.

You don't have to have known someone to feel the weight of this day. Take a moment. Remember them.

That's what today is for. Today, I am spending the day with my family.

I know this sounds like bragging. But I DO have the best customers.

I made a smart key for a couple needing a spare for their Toyota Sienna. While we were talking, the lady noticed the Wiley Wallaby's licorice on my counter, and we ended up having a whole conversation about their flavors. I told her about the green apple, which she said she hadn't tried that flavor yet.

The job went smoothly. Before they left, they asked about getting a spare cut for their grandson's Ford Fusion, too. I ordered the key, called them when it was ready.

When her husband came to pick it up, he walked in with two bags of Green Apple Wiley Wallaby's.

I don't take that stuff for granted. These are real people who trust me with something important, and they treat me like a neighbor. That's not lost on me.

Before you buy a new key, try replacing the shell and recycling what still works.

The blade still turns your ignition, the transponder is still programmed to your vehicle, but it’s held together by electrical tape and dreams. Fix it before it breaks for good.

We carry extra shells for select makes and models like Honda, Ford, and GM. Call us and see if we can save you some money by just replacing the key shell.

There are small things that we can do every day to keep our local community clean and safe. That’s why we recycle as much as we can. Keys that didn’t cut right, old batteries with a little voltage left, even our energy drink cans.

We take what would’ve been trashed and recycle it so we’re not so wasteful. It may seem like it’s a drop in the ocean, but we still care about those little details, and that reflects on how we approach our customers when they need something done.
