We are looking for a skilled Plow Operator to join us immediately for the winter season, with the explicit goal of transitioning you into a Landscape Foreman/Crew Lead role this spring.

​We don't just want a seasonal driver; we want a long-term leader. If you are tired of the seasonal layoff cycle and want to secure a leadership position running hardscape and construction projects when the snow melts, this is the job for you.

​Part 1: Winter Responsibilities (Immediate Start)
​Operate skid steers, plow trucks, and salt spreaders efficiently and safely.
​Respond promptly to snow events (must be available on-call 24/7 during storms).
​Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
​Maintain accurate logs of times and materials used.

​Part 2: Spring/Summer Responsibilities (Foreman Role)
​Lead a crew in hardscaping (pavers, retaining walls, patios) and general landscape construction.
​Read and interpret site plans and project specifications.
​Operate heavy machinery (excavators, skids) for grading and excavation.
​Train and mentor crew members on proper installation techniques.
​Interact with clients professionally on-site.

​Qualifications:
​Snow Experience: Previous experience operating a plow truck or skid steer for commercial snow removal.
​Landscape Experience: Proven background in hardscaping, masonry, or general construction.
​Leadership: Ability to manage a team, keep projects on schedule, and solve problems on the fly.
​Driver’s License: Valid Driver’s License with a clean record (CDL is a plus but not required).
​Reliability: Must be punctual and have reliable transportation to the shop.

We recently finished Phase One of a truly exciting project, and we couldn't be happier with the transformation!

​The goal was to turn a sloped, underutilized backyard into a stunning, multi-functional entertainment space—and with the homeowner's trust and vision, we made it happen.

​Key Features of This Outdoor transformation:

•​Elevated Entertaining: The entire upper level is refreshed! Dan Schanaman with Denali Construction re-decked the existing space, which now flows perfectly down to the new, spacious two-tier patio is now the central hub, perfect for hosting. We installed gas line quick-connects for seamless use of a portable grill and a cozy fire pit.

​•Architectural Detail: Quality and craftsmanship define this space. The two-tier patio and functional seat wall were built using premium Belgard products, complemented by striking natural stone step units connecting the tiers. Elegant under-cap lighting and path lights add a soft, welcoming glow after sunset.

•​Tackling the Terrain: A challenging corner of the property was completely reshaped. We used impressive 36-inch trap boulders to build up the back grade, creating a beautiful, flat area for the homeowner's new tough shed.

•​The Finishing Touches: The whole space is unified with new edging, a layer of clean 1.5" gray trap rock, and curated plantings to add life and color.

​We have to give a huge shout-out to the homeowner! They gave True North Designs and our team the creative freedom to truly take the reins and turn their dream into a reality. This is a space they can enjoy and host guests in for years to come.

This project is a powerful reminder that in hardscaping, experience isn't just a preference—it's a requirement.

​We were called in to tackle a massive failure: a retaining wall, built less than 10 years ago, that buckled and collapsed, taking a beautiful patio and gazebo with it.

​What Went Wrong?

​The original wall failed for a perfect storm of reasons rooted in a lack of knowledge:

•​❌ Improper Drainage & Unknown Springs: No one accounted for the constant flow from four underground springs we discovered.

•​❌ Poor Installation: Wrong base material, no drainage, and blocks installed without proper pins.

•​❌ Bad Design: The wall was placed higher than the patio, guaranteeing water would pond, leading to joint deterioration and ultimate collapse.

​Our Solution: An Engineered Defense Against Nature

We recently tackled a fascinating project that served as a powerful reminder of why choosing the right contractor matters, especially for something as critical as a retaining wall. We had the opportunity to completely transform a failing pool retaining wall, replacing it with the stunning County Tribute (Vision) system.

The original wall was, unfortunately, a textbook case of what not to do. It failed for nearly every conceivable reason: inadequate compaction, an improper base, poor drainage behind the wall, and a complete disregard for block specifications. The result was an unstable, unsightly, and ultimately, unsafe structure.
