Best Tex Gardens LLC is a full service design company providing high-quality projects from design to completion. Best Tex Gardens was founded by Gay Bonorden Gray, who started landscaping in 2000. After a long career as an intellectual property litigator focusing on patent law, Gay Bonorden Gray decided to do her part in making the world a more beautiful place. Leaving a secure position in a Fortu

ne 500 company as in-house counsel, Gay went back to school to pursue a career in horticulture. Since starting her business in landscaping, Gay’s designs have appeared in print in several publications by Sunset Magazines and Books (available at retailers like Barnes and Noble and Home Depot) and have appeared multiple times on HGTV. She filmed two television shows for HGTV’s Landscape Smart, and had much fun doing it. Travis Gray decided to join the fun several years ago, after a long career in the high-tech industry. Now they work together with their family to serve others in the Lake Travis area.

Lakeway PLANT SWAP SATURDAY!! and more . . .

Good morning, LMUD Garden Club! Spring is here and we are already seeing our demonstration garden start to wake up! It’s time to clean it up and add more plants! We would love to have you be a part of it next weekend (details below) – this local demonstration garden can’t exist without volunteer support.

Note: we are also looking for a stone bench or waterproof bench, about 4 ft wide, to add to the main garden area – if you have one or know of someone who has one to donate, please let me know!

Spring Planting Event: Volunteers Needed

Saturday, April 18, 2026, starting at 10am

Lakeway residents are invited to a part of maintaining and adding more native plants to our local demonstration garden, located at Lakeway MUD: 1097 Lohmans Crossing. No experience necessary. We’ll bring the tools; dress comfortably! Work may include weeding, pruning, and planting. Arrive by 10am and stay as long as you are available.

LTHS Students: this is a great opportunity to learn about the benefits of adding native plants to our ecosystem while gaining Cavs in Service volunteer hours. LMUD is an approved organization.

The event will also include a plant swap, so volunteers are encouraged to bring any established native plants or vegetable plants you can spare to share with other neighbors. Please label them for identification.

Please contact Lakeway MUD with any questions. RSVP is not necessary, but appreciated for headcount.

Please join us! Following from Stephanie at LMUD:

Good afternoon Lakeway MUD Garden Club members! I hope to see you – and a friend – next Monday at our March (SPRING!) presentation. Most homeowners in Central Texas are used to relying on traditional, non-native grass to cover their yards. Let’s explore the alternatives that are better suited to our local environment. This free, educational presentation will help you consider a range of ground cover options, beginning with familiar choices like turfgrass, mulch, and decorative rock, and introduce native grasses and alternative native ground covers that are naturally better suited to our region. We’ll talk through how different options affect water use, soil health, heat, and maintenance, and explain why native and adaptive ground covers can often provide better results with less effort. We’ll also take a practical look at the environmental and soil impacts of artificial turf.

Monday, March 9, 2pm – 4pm
