Encore Electric Director of External Affairs David Scott was recently featured in “When Systems Align, Student Opportunity Becomes Visible,” where he shared insights on how schools have evolved and are now highlighting a range of career pathways available after high school, including opportunities in the construction industry.

“Schools adopted a system where I go in as an employer and I’m standing next to military leaders and higher education leaders. Thirty-three percent of the conversation with students is about college, 33% is about military, and 33% is about other pathways," Scott said.

Encore Electric teammates recently attended the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Colorado Annual Safety and Environmental Awards dinner. During the event, Encore Electric was recognized for the company’s commitment to safety.

Encore Electric received:

- Third place in the Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA) in the 2.2-4 million manhour group.

- A Certificate of Commendation for Excellent Safety Record with a zero-incident rate in the 325,000 work-hours category in 2025.

- Construction Health and Safety Excellence (CHASE) Blue Level Participant in 2025, which is the highest recognition in the CHASE program.

Members of the Encore Electric Charitable Contributions Committee recently volunteered and made breakfast for families staying at Brent's Place. The committee focuses on supporting local organizations and community initiatives while giving back to the communities where Encore Electric teammates live and work.

Encore Electric receives Actively Green Certificate for the 11th year in a row!

The Encore Electric Mountain Business Unit is taking steps to reduce the company’s construction-related environmental footprint through green construction initiatives created by the Encore Electric Green Team. Construction significantly affects the environment through consumption, pollution, habitat loss, and greenhouse gas emissions, but sustainable practices can mitigate these impacts. To reduce this impact, the Encore Electric Green Team finds ways to make construction in the Colorado mountains more environmentally friendly by participating in the Actively Green Certification Program.

To kick off graduation season, Encore Electric Apprentice Bricin Keele graduated from the Independent Electrical Contractor (IEC) Utah apprenticeship program last month! Bricin also made it to the final eight of the IEC Utah Wire-Off Competition.

To ensure healthcare facilities are built to support the needs of patients, staff, and the community – even during an emergency – Encore Electric offers a certification and training program that teaches electricians healthcare facility construction. The Encore Electric healthcare facilities training and certification program recently held a training session in Montana, and teammates attended the class on their own time to become a healthcare trained electrician.

“I always try to tell people in class to remember when you’re at an existing hospital, the folks around you are likely experiencing one of the most stressful times of their life,” said Brian Kleingarn, Encore Electric superintendent who teaches a portion of the healthcare training program. “The rewarding thing about working on a hospital is knowing that the work you do today is going to better someone else’s life in the future.”

While the Encore Electric team builds complex and technically advanced work across four states, Encore Electric service departments often work to maintain these facilities, and customer relationships, long after a project is completed. Service teams also maintain existing buildings that Encore Electric didn’t originally build, resulting in technicians working in a wide range of facilities with different electrical systems and equipment. For our Denver service team, one of these customers is BAND-IT, a leader in stainless steel clamps and fastening products.
