Can new windows actually lower your energy costs?
Short answer: often, yes but the savings come from what your current windows are doing wrong.
Windows don’t fail all at once. They fail slowly. Seals break down, frames shift, weatherstripping flattens out, and the gap between the sash and frame gets just wide enough for conditioned air to escape. You don’t see it. You feel it. The room that’s always five degrees off, the draft near the glass in January, the AC that never seems to catch up in August.
That’s what shows up on your bill. Your heating and cooling system isn’t broken, it’s just working overtime to replace air that’s leaking out.
Signs it’s time to take a look:
🔹 Drafts near the glass, even with everything shut
🔹 Fog or moisture between the panes, that’s a failed seal
🔹 Rooms that never feel even with the rest of the house
🔹 Heat or AC that runs almost constantly
Newer double or triple-pane units with tight seals and modern frames keep conditioned air where you paid to put it. Most homeowners notice the comfort difference first, and the bill second.
Not sure whether yours need replacing or just repair? We’ll take a look and assist in making that decision.
