Although we don’t work as much in winter, we certainly do not shut down. We work when we can and do a variety of small jobs during these times. Look forward to another busy year.

Back in September, we did two steps together that were directly across the street from each other. Both cited by city and both corrected by completely removing steps/foundations, pouring footers, building foundations and building steps having equal riser heights.

Complete tear out of existing full stone stoop in the Lakewood Edgewater neighborhood- east of Lakewood Park. This particular project is an example of great detail but not so much on what you see…more on what you don’t see.

Here are some additional photos from 2022. We were on 70+ jobs and bid over 200. Worked in rain, snow, high winds, cold and hot temperatures. Most of our work were steps and chimney's. However, we also did alot of openings, lintel replacements, vehicle impacts, demo and alot of miscellaneous repairs. Some projects took over a week and some took less than 2 hours. Look forward to a busy 2023.

Olmsted Twp is not an area we work in. However, after hearing this story about how main contact and her mother were sitting on porch and the concrete stoop collapsed while they were on it-felt terrible about this. They had to get the fire department there to assist them to get out and they both sustained injuries. They couldn’t find anyone to give them an estimate or interest in doing this project. So we took this on to get their stoop not only back, but it’s built with structural integrity…full footer pad, center wall, backfilled and reinforced concrete. This will not fail again.

Full porch underpin had some really bad bows in the walls. When we do jobs like this, some lawn damage and rutting is expected. However, this one, owners did a great job of removing their shrubs to give us access to do our work. Replanted them days after and it’s as if nothing happened.

This was our first time doing a project where we were the “general contractor”. Usually we are the only ones on site and pull our own permits but this one was different since it had a lot more than just masonry. We had to do the usual permit application along with plan review. Masonry plans along with lumber/building plans were submitted to go through the architectural board for review which is a timely process. In the end, homeowners were extremely happy with results and really wanted to still match their home the best they could with some nice updates. Masonry is not the focal of this post but the carpentry, painting and just entire scope put together.

100% sandstone steps are on Clifton Blvd. Not all steps are built with sandstone but when it comes to treads/platforms-9/10 it’s sandstone we use and here’s why….

1. Match existing. Older homes in Lakewood, Rocky River, Fairview Park, and Bay Village for example have sandstone somewhere on their home-window heads, window sills, keystones or corner pieces. We tried our best to match these homes.

2. Strength and Durability. Mohs scale which measures mineral hardness has sandstone between 6-7. 10 being hardest. Very resistant to heat, impact, rain water, and dilute acids. Reason why some public sidewalks still have sandstone after 100 years or more.

3. Character. Whether it’s gray or buff sandstone-veins, swirls, or tiger striping make every piece unique and beautiful. No piece is alike.
