We would like to remind our customers of the likelihood of frozen pipes during the upcoming cold weather as temperatures will be below freezing. As a precaution, you may want to let your faucets slowly drip during the cold spell. If you have a broken lid on your water meter, please call the office at 859-792-4501 to request one to be replaced.

🌨️ Winter Plumbing Tips from APC to Protect Your Home 🛠️

Cold weather can be tough on your plumbing, but a little preparation goes a long way in avoiding costly repairs. Here are some essential tips to keep your pipes safe this winter:

❄️ Let Faucets Drip: On especially cold nights, let your faucets drip slightly. A small trickle of water helps relieve pressure and prevents freezing.

❄️ Disconnect Outdoor Hoses: Drain and store garden hoses, and shut off outdoor faucets to prevent freezing and bursts.

❄️ Keep Warm Air Flowing: Open cabinet doors under sinks and seal drafts around windows, doors, and pipe entry points.

❄️ Know Your Shutoff Valve: In case of an emergency, knowing where your main water shutoff valve is located can save you from significant water damage.

💧 Pro Tip: If you’re leaving town, keep your thermostat set to at least 55°F and shut off the water supply to reduce the risk of pipe bursts while you’re away.

📌 Share these tips to help friends and family keep their homes safe this winter!
