This 4th of July we celebrate 250 years of the greatest Republic on Earth.

For over 2 centuries people have followed the promise of freedom across the oceans to our shores. The promise of personal, religious and financial freedom that no other country has ever shared.

The birth of this nation started with men from all walks of life, sacrificing their lives and properties so that we may be a country under We The People.

A President once opined "In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American."

Some of these new immigrants, even sons and daughters, have taken arms to protect this precious idea.

So, when we are cooking our favorite smash burger, grilling carnitas, serving jerk chicken, pizza, gyros, sushi or ceviche, we are one nation, under God.
