The electrical industry thrives when everyone has a seat at the table.

The Electrical Alliance is committed to building a workforce that reflects the full range of talent in our communities.

Programs like Step-Up are how we make that happen, connecting DC residents, including immigrants, women, veterans, and people of color, with real pathways into the electrical trade.

A more inclusive industry is a better industry. For the people in it, and the communities we serve.

One morning you're pulling fiber optic cable through a hospital. The next, you're installing a security network at a university or setting up AV systems in a corporate office.

The work is hands-on and technical, in clean, climate-controlled environments. And the field is always evolving.

In three years, you can earn your journeyperson status in one of the fastest-growing areas of the trade.

The best electricians are wired for greatness in ways that don’t show up in training manuals.

They solve problems on the fly, and know when to speak up and when to listen.

Those skills are just as much a part of delivering high-quality work as everything you learn in the classroom.

What’s the most useful non-electrical skill you use on the job site every day?

Last month, IBEW Local 26 brought together General Contractors, Electrical Contractors, and minority-owned CBE and DBE businesses for a networking luncheon in Arlington, VA.
Attendees connected with NECA signatory contractors from across the region, explored joint venture opportunities, and learned about upcoming PLA projects in Washington, DC.
When contractors show up for each other, the whole industry gets stronger.
Events like this are part of what makes Electrical Alliance membership different. It's not just about the work you do on the job site. It's about the relationships and opportunities you build off of it.

You’ve already got problem-solving, people skills, and the ability to push through hard days.
The JATC gives you the technical training to match. And you'll earn while you learn, so there's no gap in your income and no student loans on the other side.

Maybe it was the first time you stood back and looked at something you'd helped build from the ground up. Maybe it was the crew you were working with, or the moment you felt like you truly belonged on the job site.
Whatever it was, we want to hear about it. Drop it in the comments.

The Electrical Alliance was created to break down the wall between labor and management. Because when contractors, union leadership, legislators, and other industry partners work together, everyone comes out ahead.

For contractors, that means showing up to every job with the right crew behind you and an alliance that has your back.
