As Clark Construction Company’s drone and reality capture program continues to grow, so does the amount of valuable project data we collect. From drone imagery and 360° walkthroughs, Matterport scans, progress photography, and 3D models.

The challenge? Making all that information easy for our project teams, owners, architects, and engineers to access and actually use.

By partnering with Birdi, we’ve created a more connected approach—bringing project imagery and spatial data into one collaborative, map-based workspace. The result is a clearer view of project progress, easier collaboration, and a scalable solution that can grow alongside our reality capture operations.

We’re always looking for ways technology can help us communicate better, collaborate more effectively, and ultimately deliver a better experience for our clients and project partners.

Last week, the Clark/White joint venture team was in attendance at the Pontiac Youth Recreation Center beam signing to honor the neighborhood and community and to show off the construction progress we've made so far.

Dignitaries were in attendance, including Pontiac Mayor Mike McGuinness, State Senator Jeremy Moss, and State Representative Brenda Carter, to honor the project. Thank you to everyone who showed up, including members of Pontiac City Council, the Parks & Recreation team, and project partners RACER Design Studio and Hobbs+Black Architects.

We can't wait to top this project out with the beam everyone signed and to celebrate another milestone!

Clark's summer internship program has come to a close, and our beloved interns must return to school.

Interns capped their summer off with a presentation on where they worked, who they worked with, and what they learned during their time with us. They also received a certificate to commemorate their time here and to remind them that their education doesn't end here. This post displays Group Three of our interns, go check out groups one and two!

Clark Construction Company was recently named the #1 Best Place to Work in West Michigan by Crain’s Grand Rapids Business and ranked 11th overall — first among construction management companies — on the 2026 Best Places to Work in Michigan list from Crain’s Detroit Business. This marks Clark’s seventh consecutive year on the statewide list and its first year of eligibility for the West Michigan recognition.

What does it take to build a salt dome, and why does a city need one?

We got the ball rollin' last night at the Crain's Best Places to Work in West Michigan Event at SILVA by playing some bocce! It was a fun evening celebrating all of the great companies in the West Michigan area, but the best part for us was being recognized as Crain's #1 Best Places to Work in West Michigan for 2026! We are thrilled to receive this honor, and we believe this reflects our commitment to both building a foundation of trust with our employees and following through with our core values as a company.

As part of Clark's summer internship learning series, we held our third site visit at the Grand Rapids Fire Training Facility!

Intern, Max Porter, and his team: Project Manager, Conor Bradley; Project Engineer Jake Seling; and Superintendent Joe Barker led a tour of the Grand Rapids Fire Department's new training facility.

Joe and Jake led the tour while sharing their insights and lessons learned on this project. The site sits on the banks of a creek and has to contend with a shallow water table when excavating or digging up buried utilities. The new facility is pre-engineered and requires added attention during construction to mitigate changes to the structure that would require re-engineering.

Thank you to the GR training facility team for welcoming our interns and showing them around the job site.

A project milestone worth celebrating and building on — safely.

To mark the completion of the second floor at the Romney Building in Lansing, Clark brought the project team together for a lunch and learn. Clark Safety Manager, Doug Powell, led an interactive discussion about the shared responsibility of workplace safety and individual accountability.

Smokeshow Catering, a Lansing barbecue favorite, provided lunch for the occasion.
