Better known to many as the North Shore Asphalt Plant, the Franklinton operation has been a proud part of the community since 2001. Located in a town whose history dates back to 1819, the plant combines deep roots with a forward-looking team culture built on experience, fresh ideas, and a commitment to quality.

What makes Franklinton special is its people. With a blend of longtime employees and newer team members bringing fresh ideas, the team continues to build on a culture of quality, hard work, and continuous improvement. Congratulations to the Franklinton crew on earning both the NAPA Diamond Achievement, Quality and Paving Awards, a reflection of the dedication they bring to the job every day!

Meet Todd Glass, Field Engineer with North Shore Asphalt! Todd has been with Barriere since January 2024 and continues to grow in his career while helping promote quality, safety, and teamwork across the company.

What he enjoys most about his role is being challenged with something new every day, solving problems, and building strong camaraderie with his coworkers. Outside of work, Todd enjoys hunting, cheering on the LSU Tigers, and spending time with his wife as they build their new home and care for their property.

Todd’s advice to others at Barriere: Be on time, take on new challenges, go above and beyond, and always be willing to learn.

Barriere recently wrapped up another successful summer internship program. The evening before their presentations, interns and leadership gathered for a mixer and dinner, providing an opportunity to connect and reflect on the summer. The following day, our interns presented their summer projects to leadership, highlighting the work they completed and the valuable experience they gained along the way.

This month, we're recognizing C**t McElveen, Equipment Coordinator at Barriere. For 24 years, C**t has helped keep our crews running by ensuring equipment stays in top condition and responding quickly when breakdowns occur. After starting his career as a laborer, he's built a successful career through hard work and now takes pride in training employees in operator, flagger, and spotter safety.

When he's not at work, C**t enjoys boating and playing softball with his wife and four kids. His advice for anyone starting at Barriere is simple: "Show up on time, give your best, and you will move up quickly."

Giving back to the communities we serve is an important part of who we are.

On July 10, our Barriere interns volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Pantry in New Orleans, where they packed more than 560 food boxes for local seniors. We're proud of their commitment to making a difference and representing Barriere in the community!
