Progress on the New Pass dredging project continues to move forward smoothly. The contractor has been making steady, efficient progress, and the project is expected to be completed in the near future.

This work is an important part of maintaining safe navigation through the pass and supporting the overall health and function of the surrounding waterways. We appreciate the efforts of the crews involved in keeping the project on schedule and minimizing impacts to the area.

We look forward to the successful completion of the project and the continued benefits it will provide to our community and local waterways.

Sailors say shallow waters have long made the channel difficult to navigate.
