The Tampa Bay Area is being overrun with chinch bugs right now. If you notice “dry spots” that don’t seem to improve with water, especially if parts of the grass have a darker brown/copper like an old penny color that is a telltale sign you have chinch bugs. I have seen these in over 100 yards in the last week, never seen anything like this in 12 years in the field. These little demons can destroy your entire yard in a matter of weeks.
