Today, we took delivery of our 5th rig in 27 years, and it brought back so many memories. As I drove up to the new rig, I found myself in tears. Why, you ask? This represents a lifetime of hard work and passion. We are proud fourth-generation water well drillers, dedicated tradesmen, and a family that excels in our craft. As the 'mom' and the girl in the office, I have the privilege of standing the derrick the first time on each of the new rigs. Will I get to do it again? I sure hope so. Following the rig to Tularosa for her maiden ‘job,’ where we raised our boys amidst the rigs and the rigorous schedule, flooded me with memories all at once.

I was remembering times when I was hauling way too much drill pipe on way too small of a truck, I was called to bring a trailer and ‘find me’ in the desert because the truck broke down (I found him… not sure how), and old times when I had to walk along the side of the truck to find gas caps because I didn’t put them back on, the time I knocked down a customer’s fence because I had never driven a big truck, drawing a circle in the dirt and throwing Tonka trucks in it and telling the 7-year-old to keep the 1-year-old IN THE CIRCLE while I had to go help dad change a joint, and about 100 other thoughts.

Hydrotech now has a pulling unit that can do any job it is stood up over. Doesn’t matter how deep it is how big it is or how stuck it is. This machine will pull it.
