That small water spot might not be so small.

By the time damage shows on the surface, moisture may already be behind the wall, under the flooring, or inside the baseboards. A quick patch can cover the problem, but it does not always solve what caused it.

At UTE Flood & Fire, we help homeowners look deeper. From drying and documentation to repair and rebuild, the goal is to restore the home the right way, not just hide the damage.

Because some damage is more than a patch.

This homeowner had been dealing with a smell in her bathroom for almost a year. She had done everything right. New caulk. Plumber inspection. Deep cleaning. Nothing fixed it.

When our team opened the walls we found mold growing in three separate cavities. The cause was a hairline crack in the shower pan that had been allowing water to seep behind the tile every time the shower ran. Completely invisible from the surface.

In Las Vegas heat with AC running constantly and walls staying warm year round, the conditions for mold growth are almost ideal once moisture gets behind your walls. By the time we arrived the damage had spread well beyond what anyone could have seen.

Everything affected came out. Full remediation. Full rebuild. Air quality tested clean before we left.

If you have a smell in any room that you cannot trace to an obvious source, do not paint over it. Call us and let us find it.

Most Las Vegas homeowners donโ€™t find out they have the wrong insurance coverage until they are already filing a claim.

Your policy covers damage under either Actual Cash Value or Replacement Cost Value. ACV pays what your property is worth today after depreciation. RCV pays what it actually costs to replace it. On a major restoration that gap can be tens of thousands of dollars coming out of your pocket.

Open your policy right now and find Coverage C. If it says Actual Cash Value, call your agent today and ask about upgrading before you need it.

We have been helping Las Vegas homeowners navigate claims since 1956. Questions about your coverage? Call us.

It started with an upstairs leak.

At first, it probably felt like a small problem. Then the water made its way down and left a huge hole in the ceiling. That is the kind of damage that makes any homeowner think, โ€œWill this ever look the same again?โ€

That is where UTE Flood & Fire stepped in.
From the first call to the final repair, the goal was simple: communicate clearly, move fast, and restore the home the right way. By the end, the ceiling looked like nothing ever happened.
That is not just repair work. That is peace of mind restored.

Las Vegas homeowners! This one is specific to us and it is important.

Our city has one of the highest rates of hidden pipe and slab leaks in the entire United States. The combination of caliche soil that shifts dramatically with extreme heat and hard water that corrodes copper pipes from the inside creates conditions unlike almost anywhere else in the country.

The dangerous thing about slab leaks is how invisible they are. Water travels up through the concrete and soaks into your subfloor and walls while everything on the surface looks completely normal. By the time a homeowner notices anything unusual the average leak has been running for weeks.

Here are the six warning signs we see most often in Las Vegas homes before a major water damage event happens. Go through this list and check your home today.

A sudden unexplained increase in your water bill. A musty smell in a room that has never had water issues. Soft spots or bubbling in your walls or floors. A warm patch anywhere on your tile or hardwood floors. Noticeably lower water pressure. Hearing the sound of running water when nothing is turned on.

If any of these are present in your home right now, do not wait. A free inspection takes less than an hour and catching this early is the difference between a minor repair and a full restoration job.

When this family called us their home looked exactly like what you see on the left side of this photo.

The fire had taken the roof. The walls. The floors. Everything that made it a home was gone. They did not know if they would ever come back.

Our team arrived the same night, assessed the full structural damage and built a complete restoration plan from the foundation up. New framing. New roof deck. New exterior. New walls. New flooring throughout. Every surface finished to the same standard you see on the right.

What you see on the right is what we handed them back. Same address. Same neighborhood. The home they raised their family in, completely rebuilt.

This is not a cleanup job. It is not patching damage and hoping nobody notices. It is a full structural rebuild executed by a team that has been doing exactly this work in Las Vegas since 1956. We know fire damage. We know what needs to come out. We know what can stay. And we know how to move fast enough to protect your insurance claim and get your family home.

If your home has been through a fire and you are standing in the middle of it not knowing where to begin. We have walked into hundreds of homes that looked like the left side of this photo. We will tell you exactly what happens next.

If you own a home in Las Vegas, swipe through this entire carousel before you ever need to file a damage claim.

After nearly 70 years of working alongside homeowners and insurance adjusters in this city, we have seen the same mistakes cost people thousands over and over again.

The first one is timing. Most homeowners do not know that waiting even 48 hours after discovering damage gives their insurance adjuster grounds to reduce the payout. The clock starts the moment damage occurs, not the moment you decide to deal with it.

The second one is documentation. If your contractor submits one invoice that combines both the emergency mitigation phase and the restoration rebuild phase, your adjuster can challenge the entire thing. We separate and document everything correctly from the first hour we are on site.

The third one surprises almost everyone. You are not legally required to call your insurance company before you call a restoration company. In fact calling us first means you have a professional assessment and documentation already in hand before your adjuster ever walks through the door. That changes the entire conversation.

Save this post. Share it with every Las Vegas homeowner you know. And if damage has already happened, call us before you do anything else.

This is the part of water damage restoration that most companies skip. And it is the part that affects your familyโ€™s health the most.

When water gets into your walls and sits even briefly, the materials around it begin releasing volatile organic compounds into your air. These are odorless and invisible. Most families never know they are breathing them.

On top of that, mold spores become airborne before you can see any visible mold growth. The spores travel through your HVAC system and get distributed to every room in your home every single time you run your air conditioning.
In Las Vegas where AC runs nearly year round, this means constant exposure.

The most serious issue is mycotoxins, which are produced by certain types of mold including black mold. Research links mycotoxin exposure to headaches, persistent fatigue, brain fog, respiratory problems and in serious cases neurological symptoms. Many Las Vegas families attribute these symptoms to the heat or allergies when the real source is inside their walls.

A proper water damage restoration addresses the air, not just the surfaces. At UTE Flood and Fire our process includes air quality testing before we leave every job because clean should actually mean clean.

Las Vegas has one of the highest rates of residential slab leaks in the United States and most homeowners in this city have no idea why.

There are two reasons that are specific to the Las Vegas valley. The first is the soil. Vegas sits on a significant amount of caliche, a calcium carbonate-heavy soil that reacts dramatically to temperature changes. In a city where temperatures can swing 40 degrees between seasons and where ground temperatures under concrete slabs get extremely high in summer, this soil expands and contracts continuously. That movement pushes against pipes and slowly works joints and connections loose over years.

The second reason is our water. Las Vegas has some of the highest mineral content water in the United States, sourced from the Colorado River and Lake Mead. That hard water slowly deposits calcium and mineral scale inside copper pipes while simultaneously corroding the pipe walls from the inside. Pipes under concrete slabs are the most vulnerable because they are under constant pressure and cannot be inspected visually.

The dangerous thing about slab leaks is how long they can go undetected. Water soaks into the concrete slab and travels upward through capillary action. By the time a homeowner feels a warm spot on a tile floor or notices a subtle humidity change in a room, the water has often been sitting under and inside the slab for weeks. In Las Vegas heat, the conditions for mold in the walls above that slab become perfect within 24 to 48 hours.

If your water bill has increased without explanation, if your floor feels warm in any area, or if you notice a musty smell that you cannot trace to an obvious source, those are the three most common early warning signs of a slab leak in a Las Vegas home.

Call us before it becomes a major restoration job๐Ÿšจ
