✨ You know I love a good shadow… but this one is pretty special. 🖤

Guess who’s behind the camera AND in that shadow? Artur! My pool construction manager, problem solver, and today’s videographer. 😂

Since breaking ground on July 22, Art has helped me manage this custom pool & landscape project in Boulder City, navigating everything from unexpected site conditions to engineering revisions and thousands of square feet of concrete.

Now the landscape is complete, the pool is nearing the finish line, and Art is out there capturing progress for me while I recover from my foot injury. He already does so much helping me manage pool construction, work through technical challenges, and keep all the moving pieces on track. Today, he added videographer to the list!

Seriously, though, Art’s knowledge, dedication, and work ethic are something I deeply appreciate. I appreciate everything Art brings to this team, and I’m lucky to get to work alongside him.😊

Beautiful backyards don’t happen by accident. They take a whole lot of planning, problem-solving, hard work, and the right people behind the scenes.

Every light. Every plant. Every detail. ⭐ That’s what hands-on pool & landscape design looks like!

Today in Boulder City, we’re installing landscape rock, LED landscape lighting & the finishing touches on this custom backyard. I’m out here measuring every single light placement because the details matter!

Remember those grass trees I fought to keep at the beginning of this project? 🌿 Look at them now! Sometimes the best design decisions are the ones you believe in from day one.

A beautiful custom screen from Mid Mod Makers, quality plants from Hurley’s Nursery & thoughtful lighting bring this landscape together.

Huge shout-out to Flaco, my trusted foreman of 20+ years, his brother, his cousins & the entire equipo! ❤️ Your hard work & dedication mean everything to me. I’m proud of what we create together!

I intentionally limit my projects so I can stay hands-on, protect the design vision & give every detail the attention it deserves. That’s the difference between simply building a backyard and creating something truly special.

The details make the difference, and this backyard is coming together one step at a time! 🌿✨

We’re back in Boulder City, getting the landscape installed and bringing this custom pool & backyard design to life. The trees are going in, the greenery is taking shape, and we’re getting closer to the finishing stages!

Next up: spray deck texture & paint, pool interior finish, and tile. We’re getting closer to seeing this entire backyard come together!

👕 A shout-out to Total Promotion Company for our crew’s new shirts! Looking good out there, guys. Thanks for helping us represent Sabrina Layne Pools on the job!

Good morning from Boulder City! ☀️ The weather is gorgeous, the crew is moving right along, and today we’re bringing another piece of this custom pool & landscape project to life.

We’re installing artificial turf, oversized Keystone City Stone Supra Driftwood pavers with a Belgard Rio Holland Stone border, landscape lighting, and carefully placed boulders to create beautiful transitions between materials.

That big boulder? It takes a team to get it into just the right spot! Every detail matters when you’re building a cohesive outdoor space.

One thing I’ve learned throughout my years in pool & landscape design is that getting out in the field makes me a better designer. I’ve spent years creating plans, working with clients, and bringing their visions to life. Now, spending time alongside my crew gives me an even deeper understanding of the construction process, sequencing, materials, and the little details that can make a big difference in the final result.

I call it mi escuela… my school. 😉 Even after years in this industry, there’s always something new to learn. That knowledge helps me design smarter, coordinate better, and make thoughtful decisions that benefit my clients.

Today, I’m keeping the guys fed, learning from the crew, and making sure everything comes together just as planned. The pool interior will be one of the final steps, so we’re carefully coordinating each phase along the way.

Custom pool & landscape design in Boulder City, Nevada, is about more than creating a beautiful rendering. It’s about understanding how every detail comes together in the real world.

We’re getting there, one detail at a time! ✨

✨ DAY 2 OF THE CONCRETE POUR! 🏗️

This Boulder City pool & landscape project is coming together one step at a time, and LOOK at all that deck space! 😍

We poured concrete over two days at Caireen’s backyard, tying the new concrete into the existing areas and bringing all those custom details to life.

Here’s what I’m loving about this stage:

✨ The raised bond beam wall & covered spillways
✨ Those clean concrete joints (seriously, what’s sexier than a nice joint? 😂)
✨ The concrete curbing & all the space created by the new hardscape
✨ The shadows that will make the Desert Steel metal plant features pop

This project has more concrete square footage than my entire house! She’s going to have plenty of room to entertain, relax, and enjoy her backyard when it’s finished.

My favorite part of landscape architecture? Getting right down into the dirt! Leave the fancy stuff to the interior architecture. 😂 Pigpen knows what I’m talking about!

We’re not done yet, but every step gets us closer to the finished backyard. Stay tuned as this custom Boulder City pool & landscape transformation continues! 💗

CONCRETE DAY 1. 🧱This is A LOT of concrete.

Caireen’s House is a two-day concrete pour, and when you’re dealing with this much square footage, there is ZERO room for “close enough.”

I take being on my jobsites seriously. 👀

During the walkthrough, I noticed the framing around the garage access door wasn’t lining up the way I wanted it to with the existing concrete joint. The 4-foot access was staying, but the layout needed to shift so everything worked together properly.

We stopped, adjusted it and got it right before the concrete was poured.

Four eyes are better than two. 👀👀

Art, our construction manager, and I are constantly looking at the details. Sometimes it’s something tiny that could become a BIG problem once it’s buried in concrete.

That’s also why I’m so serious about designing it right from the beginning. Good design, proper planning and being involved during construction can save homeowners a LOT of money, time and headaches down the road.

Fixing something after it’s built is a hell of a lot more expensive than getting it right the first time💥

Design it right. Build it right. Check it twice.

Day 1 down. Day 2 coming. 💪🏽

My grandma always told me: “Get your education and travel.”

Well… I got the education. 😂

Traveling? That part hasn’t exactly happened yet. I’ve only been to Mexico twice in my entire life.

Then I saw this Sprayground x Frank Lloyd Wright suitcase and thought, welp… maybe this is where we start. ✈️

I am a landscape & pool designer/contractor, whose journey into landscape architecture began with my love for architecture. Frank Lloyd Wright was my catalyst into architecture💥

So here’s my first travel flex… before I’ve even really traveled. 😂

Sprayground, I think I need the rest of the collection. 👀

WHY THE HELL AM I DOING PLANT RECON ON A POOL REMODEL? 🌴

I look at the entire site, not just the pool.

I’m in the early stages of a major Summerlin pool & landscape renovation, and before demo starts, I want to understand everything that already exists on the property.

Joe Noriega and Shane from Mr. Tree came out to walk the site with me, and naturally, we started geeking out over trees and plants.

We started in the front yard.

Phoenix canariensis. Palm boots. Existing planting beds. Podocarpus macrophyllus, aka yew pine. Microclimates. Root systems. Even the biodiversity created by planting around the base of existing trees.

FORM & FUNCTION — me & my sky daddy Frank Lloyd Wright’s favorite subject. 😂

Plants aren’t just decoration.

Placement matters. Microclimate matters. Root systems matter. Existing trees matter.

Every piece of the property needs to work together.

My degree is in landscape architecture, and that’s exactly why I got into this business. I wanted to design & build everything outside the walls of the house.

The pool. The landscape. The hardscape. The planting. The shade. The views. The outdoor living spaces.

Everything you see when you open those sliders.

I’m not just here to sell you a pool.

I’m here to design the entire exterior environment around the home.

This is just the front yard.

The backyard is where things get REALLY interesting. 👀🌴
