Our first podcast… and we’re genuinely proud of this one.

It’s real, it’s raw, and it’s an honest look at our journey, the trade, and what it actually takes behind the scenes.

There was a bit of a laugh about Aaron saying “there’s no other sexier bricklaying couple in Australia”… 😅

But for us, it’s about something bigger.

Bricklaying is one of the world’s oldest trades. It’s built homes, communities, and careers for generations, and we want to see it continue to grow for decades to come. Shining a positive light on it is the way forward.

Hearing Pride, Integrity and Trust come back as the three key takeaways from Aaron at the end meant more than we can explain. That’s what we stand for across everything we do.

Big thanks to The Good Builder for creating a platform that shares the positive side of our industry. We need more of it.

Artificial Intelligence on a masonry job.

While we were in Vegas at World of Concrete, Tara had the opportunity to sit in on an education session with the MCAA around GEORGE AI. It started in the classroom, then we walked out to the Bronze Lot to see it in action.

This isn’t about replacing bricklayers.

GEORGE is an industry-built AI system developed specifically for masonry. It’s already being used to support safety, documentation, education, productivity, and even bridging language gaps across crews. And it’s still evolving.

Technology built for the trade, not against it.

If something can make a bricklayer’s job safer, easier, and more sustainable over a long career, we’re all for it.

Would you use it?

Australia’s Team Amuso helped lay the foundations for a world record. 🇦🇺

Before the record was broken, Damian and Scott were on the ground helping lay the starter courses, supporting Garrett Shafer and his crew ahead of a successful world record attempt the following day.

This was about bricklayers backing bricklayers.
No spotlight. No ego. Just showing up for the trade.

A special moment for Damian was laying a starter course alongside Bob Boll.

Bob’s record of 914 bricks in one hour, set in 1987, still stands today.
Sharing a wall with a true legend of the craft was something special.

Respect for the trade. Support for each other.
Proud to have been part of it.

Big things coming 🎙️

We’re incredibly excited (and proud) to share that we’ll be jumping on The Good Builder podcast soon.

This will be our first ever official podcast, and the conversation will cover Damian and Tara, Team Amuso, DA Bricklaying, DAT Tools, business, industry, family, the ups, the downs, and everything in between. Honest conversations, real experiences, and a whole lot of passion for the trade and the people in it.

The alignment feels right, the timing feels right, and we’re genuinely looking forward to sharing this one.

More details to come 🎧

And because life doesn’t stop while you’re building things…

🎂 Happy 4th birthday to our Gianni today
Always keeping us grounded and reminding us why we do what we do 🤍

Big few weeks ahead. Stay tuned.

Sound on 🎧
Damian and Scott trained for the world stage.
Tara did not…

Didn’t realise until later that evening the judges were having a bit of a giggle at Tara’s commentary.
At the time completely oblivious.
Looking back at the footage now… we can see why 😅

Can you hear what they’re laughing at?

📢 One of the most respected brick manufacturers in the world just put these words in print about Australia’s Team Amuso.

“Set higher standards for competitive bricklaying worldwide.”
“Remarkable consistency and craftsmanship.”
“High production rates and disciplined technique.”

Those aren’t our words. They come from Belden Brick, longtime supporters of the Spec Mix Bricklayer 500 and a global authority in masonry.

To have our work, our discipline, and our approach, our team recognised at this level is something we don’t take lightly. Years of preparation, consistency, and respect for the craft and all of those involved sit behind every one of these lines.

Thank you to Belden Brick for the acknowledgement, and for continuing to support competitive bricklaying on the world stage.

They truly mean more than you’ll ever know, so very proud and honoured when we read those words.

By chance, coincidence, or fate…
stall 27 keeps finding us.

2019 | competition day: stall 27.
2025 | originally allocated stall 25, turned up to see our name on 23, then on competition day… stall 27.
2026 | different year, same result. Stall 27 again.

Three competitions.
Three competition days.
The same stall every time.

Not planned. Not requested. Just one of those strange patterns you only notice when you look back.

Grateful for every opportunity to represent Australia on the world stage 🇦🇺

Some things can’t be scripted.

Recognition and collaboration like this help strengthen the construction industry and shine a light on the people behind the work.

If you’re a member, this may have already landed in your inbox. If not, here’s a look at the feature.

Thank you to Master Builders Victoria for supporting your members and helping share our story.

How many training sessions do you think we did before this year’s competition?
How many bricks do you reckon were thrown in before the world stage?

This was the very last session.

That morning, we trained. Later that day, we attended Damian’s nonna’s funeral. That night, our flights were cancelled and rebooked, before flying out the next morning.

Just one small snapshot of what happens behind the scenes.

There were many more sessions that never made it to social media, and never will.

We approached this like training for a sport. Different tactics, different focuses, constant adjustments. Always pushing for better.

This is why we’re called Team Amuso. It’s never just the bricklayer. The mason and the mason’s tender work as one. Without both, nothing works the way it should.

And anyone who competes knows, training numbers don’t win titles. It comes down to the day, the conditions, and who performs when it matters most.

Damian keeps most of this quiet.
I’m just the one proud enough to share
