Henderson Police arrested two suspects who attempted a home burglary early this morning.
On Friday, Feb. 17, just after midnight, an unknown male was spotted in a garage in the 60 block of Incline Village Ct. The suspect fled on foot after being confronted by the homeowner.
As Henderson Police were searching for the suspect in the neighborhood, a vehicle without its lights on was witnessed leaving the area. Officers conducted a traffic stop and when an officer approached the vehicle, the female driver sped away.
The driver traveled south on South Valle Verde Drive and on to Interstate 215, heading westbound. The driver lost control and hit a concrete barrier, causing the front tire to flatten. Officers followed the vehicle, which exited to northbound North Green Valley Parkway. The female driver then struck a curb at Pebble Road and North Green Valley Parkway. The male and female suspects escaped the vehicle on foot into the Corporate Circle professional building complex and the neighboring apartment complex. A perimeter was established and both suspects were apprehended.
Henderson Police and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (Metro) officers worked jointly to capture both suspects. Metro Air and K-9 also assisted in the search. Officers took 22-year-old Taylor Goodman and 26-year-old Shawn Erickson into custody and both were arrested without incident.
The suspects are being held at the Henderson Detention Center. Charges include but are not limited to burglary, trafficking schedule one controlled substances, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy for burglary, resisting a public officer and reckless driving. Both suspects have criminal histories including burglaries, possession of stolen property and vehicles. Erickson is also a four-time convicted felon.
