Hi everyone!
Long time no see...or hear, for some of us.

It's been a busy life in a busy year in a busy world for most of us.
The year is winding down, although our lives and the world keeps up the pace.
Summer is coming to an end (finally) and some of us await fall patiently, or not so. If you live in Las Vegas, it can't come too soon.

This weekend commemorates that time line. We deserve a break today....well, this weekend, or at least Monday, ok?

Labor Day! The day we recognize and honor the people, past and present, who labor to build and maintain this country.

On September 5, 1882 the workers were first honored in NYC.
Over the years as other states started recognizing the observance, Congress declared Labor Day to be a National day of observance and it was previously designated to be recognized on the first Monday of September. That was really nice of them because it gave everyone a three day weekend. Yaaaay!!

Anywhooo,
We rely on those workforces for infrastructure.
One of the very most important workforces is the plumbing industry.
Plumbers don't just unclog toilets and drains, or fix leaky faucets and pipes. They share their life stories with us and give us the impression that Santa or someone needs to put a package under the Christmas tree containing either suspenders or a belt.
Sorry, getting off the track here....

So........ with their expertise, this profession is responsible, as well, for designing the systems for assembly and installation of pipes, fittings and fixtures that allows easy access for water, gas and waste disposal. These systems keep the good clean water we need daily separated from contaminants.
Plumbers also play an important role in desalination, the treatment of wastewater and also water reuse.
Without plumbers, we would be SOL .....(-:

This Labor Day, we salute all the professions that make this country what is is .
We here at Aqua Plumbing wish all of you a relaxing, safe and enjoyable Labor Day.
Give yourself a pat on the back for all your contributions regardless what profession you are in.

Good afternoon friends, family, customers, followers.
Did you know its National French Fry day??? Yummy!!!! Not too many people don't like french fries.
Shoe string, steak fries, curly, crinkle, waffle, even tornado cut!
Toppings galore!!! Regular salt, season salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cajun. Dipped in or topped with catsup, ranch, thousand island, gravy, cheese sauce, spaghetti sauce, nacho style, just about anything that pleases your taste buds is good on french fries.
What's your favorite and unusual way to eat french fries???

Although the name suggests the origination in France, it's believed that during WW1 when American troops arrived in Belgium, the official language of Belgium was French so when they were introduced to "fries", the soldiers called them "french fries".

Just remember....if you are ambitious enough to fix this delightful side, snack or meal from fresh potatoes, although your local plumbers will appreciate the business, putting your potato peels or even 2 week old leftovers down the garbage disposal could be very costly.
The high starch content causes it to clump and get sticky and pasty. It can gum up your disposal and collect in your drain trap.
Just peel your potatoes into a trash can, news paper, paper or plastic bag and dispose them.
Think smart and use that money you will save and you can buy more potatoes and make your favorite conglomeration of french fries.

Now that we are all drooling.....LET"S GO GET FRIED!!!!
( If you live in Las Vegas, right now, in the 118 degree temps... you'll understand that with a different meaning).

Good afternoon and Good Friday to everyone.
Most of us know the real meaning of Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ from his crucifixion.

The modern day celebration of Easter and the Easter bunny/ eggs started in medieval Germany. The "Osterhase" or "Easter Hare" laid colorful eggs in the nests constructed by children. This tradition was brought to the U.S. in the 18th century.
Dying eggs dates back thousands of years. Eggs actually symbolize re-birth and life springing forth. Hence: resurrection...
NOW....associating that with plumbing:
Ground up egg shells create granular waste that sticks to any kind of sludge already in the pipes. It can quickly create a blockage or clog a garbage disposal.
Now if you have a septic tank, we know everything from every pipe source ends up there.
The bacteria in septic tanks cannot eat egg shells, coffee grounds or bones. They can plug up the leach field and make for a very "expensive" repair.

On that note, all of us at Aqua Plumbing wish all of you a wonderful weekend and a Happy, colorful, delicious, but "inexpensive" Easter Day.
(Dispose of those shells in the trash).....NO! Wait! That advise detours business......lol jk.

TGIF!!
Well, even though it's too late to tell you to wear purple today, it's never too late in the day to post some good information.
Today is Purple Day, otherwise known as National Epilepsy Awareness Day.
Last year, a famous resort in Florida commemorated this day by having a meet and greet, breakfast, photo ops with the famous M&M, then opened up the Expo with sessions on info and education about issues on epilepsy. The ending ceremony was a purple light up at the Space Ship Earth. Cool! My favorite color is purple.
Epilepsy is a serious neurological condition causing seizures and other symptoms.
There are a few known causes for epilepsy like genetics, brain injury, immune disorders and others.
It's not contagious and there is no age boundary in developing epilepsy. It's very treatable, but there are always danger aspects in every day living.
Take precautions when possible if you have epilepsy or live with someone who does. One simple precaution can be provided by a qualified plumber. Fitted with thermostatically controlled taps in the kitchen or bathroom, the water will stay at a constant temperature and keep a person with epilepsy from being scalded in the event of a seizure while getting ready to bathe, shower, wash hands or washing dishes in the kitchen.
Newer homes are equipped with these on the showers and bath tubs.
If you already know any of this information, maybe you can pass it on to those who don't.

Hello everybody!
It must be close to lunch time because I'm getting hungry and thinking about one of my favorite foods....Lobster!!!🦞🦞🦞 How many of you like lobster?? Did you know there are 2 kinds of lobster? Warm water lobster are found in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Asian coast. They have no claws, poor things😢
The "real lobsters" are cold water lobsters, they are found in North America and Europe. They do have claws...and their meat is whiter, sweeter and more tender than the warm water species.

BTW.....today is National Lobster Newburg Day!
Anybody out there ever tried it???
Thanks to a sea captain named Ben Wenburg, who developed this yummy dish, it debuted on a New York menu in 1876 as "Lobster A La Wenburg". It was later renamed Lobster Newburg.

I know you're probably wondering why a plumbing company cares about lobster....well, it just so happens that plumbing has something in common with lobsters. So contrary to my statement above about there being 2 kinds of lobster, there are 3 kinds!

Ever heard of a Hot water lobster???
Well I'm not sure I'd want to eat it, but it could come in handy if you want fast hot water to boil some real lobster in.

It's actually an all mechanical, electricity free, control valve that delivers hot water instantly. A water recirculation system of sorts.
Cool idea when you don't want to wait 5 minutes for hot water to wash your hands or shower.
