Federal Pacific service upgrade during a tornado warning ?? 👇👇👇

We decided this was the perfect day to tackle this extensive upgrade in Bright, IN.

We tore out the existing interior and exterior service equipment and replaced it all with Brand New 200 amp load center and meter/main combo unit. We specifically designed the equipment to plan for multiple projects done at this property. We also added a 30 amp generator inlet and interlock kit, which unfortunately turned out to be a day late to beat the widespread power outage caused by this storm 🤷‍♂️. It’s ok though, they’re ready for the next one…

So many more pictures and projects here that I’ll break it up and post others soon, but considering some of the hidden issues we found during the process, it turned out great! Most importantly the customer was thrilled.

Check out this troubleshoot 👇👇

I sent the guys out on a couple troubleshoots earlier this week while I stayed home to work on project estimates and coordination. They had trouble on one of them where a bathroom receptacle was not working but the first part of the circuit was fine.

This home had a tree limb 🌳fall on it during recent storms, but we were informed this issue was present prior to that.

I told the guys “I’ll give it a try” later this week. Today we went back and it took about an hour but I finally traced and isolated the issue to this hidden treasure behind the wall🪎🤦‍♂️ (if your an electrician, you know this is a tough find) .

This is why you should never cover a splice. I see this so much with handyman services or your “friend” who can do electric. Call a professional and get the peace of mind of knowing it’s safe.

🔥 When your outlet starts SMOKING, something is definitely wrong.

We were called out after a customer noticed smoke coming from this exterior outlet and wanted it checked out.

Once we opened it up, we found extensive heat and burn damage. The receptacle and components were so badly melted that it was difficult to determine exactly where the failure originally started.

We removed the burned and melted components, repaired the damaged wiring, and installed a new exterior receptacle to get things back in safe working order. ⚡️

If you ever notice smoke, a burning smell, discoloration, unusual heat, or melting around an outlet, stop using it and have it checked. Electrical problems don’t always give you much warning, but this one definitely did.

💡 The right lighting can make even a smaller space feel more open.

When finishing our own basement, we added canless lighting along with a low-profile ceiling fan in this bedroom.

Low ceilings don’t mean you have to sacrifice good lighting or a ceiling fan. Choosing the right fixtures can make a big difference without taking up valuable headroom.

✨ Before & After ✨

Here’s a quick look at part of a recent lighting update we completed!

For this customer, we replaced two older recessed can lights with two new canless LED lights and swapped out an existing fluorescent light for two canless LED fixtures, giving these spaces a brighter, cleaner, and more modern look. We also updated the old dimmer k**b switches with new dimmer switches.
