For such a petite space it sure did toss us a lot of curve balls and at least one bear but I can honestly say it's one of my favorite things that we've done together. It really feels like we put some life and a whole lotta happiness inside this little cabin 😍🌈

The dreamiest loft ✨💤
I wanted the loft to feel soft, fluffy, like going to sleep in the sky above the clouds; that inspired the ombre of blues and purples as well as the stenciled stars above the bed against the back wall, and later the fluffy yarn hangings that hid the utilitarian wire banister. The view of the rainbow beams from the bed ensures that every day starts off sunny

Kevin built the amazing multipurpose ladder stairs just for this space! There had previously been a mostly plastic extension ladder that was attached to the wall via ziptie. It was slightly terrifying to climb and didn't add anything to the space. I found a blurry Google image of what looked like a good idea and Kevin reverse-engineered it and brought it to life! Now there's a fully attached, very safe and stable ladder with storage on the steps, and it also makes a little nook perfect for a desk to fit in.

The old brown basement is now cheerful and lively, and the laundry closet was just a bonus refresher with the addition of vinyl stickers and some spray paint on the old cabinet doors 🎨🖌️

It's amazing how new paint can totally change up a space!

We have some close friends who have been side-eyeing this Georgia football-themed room since they moved in. This bedroom is in a basement and doesn't have any natural light, and those colors were aggressive and so dark. I wanted to brighten it up and make it feel more open and it wound up going in a beachy direction on accident (can't take the Florida out of the girl haha 🌊☀️) but I think it looks pretty great now! Staying within a reasonable budget was only possible because we got a great deal on the counters and cabinets buying them used locally, so here's your reminder to reuse y'all.

New year, new project!
Yesterday we started working on this basement suite, knocking out a closet to turn that space into a kitchen.
I got to use power tools (yay!) and a sledgehammer (ow!) and now I know how to remove a non load-bearing wall, and let me tell you it is a lot messier than it looks in a time-lapse

You don't need to live with an ugly or dysfunctional space to just because you're planning a full renovation in a few years! You deserve to enjoy the home you have now in the budget you can afford. And even better: you can have us do the DIY so YDH*

In this bathroom, we reglazed the tub, regrouted the tile, and changed the shower fixtures and it made a really big impact. Now the VIP (VIPee?) Lounge can hopefully be a functional *and* stylish space for years to come.
