Attention customers we have been made aware of army worms making their way through our area. They can and will eat through an entire lawn in the matter of hours. If you are finding green,tan and black worms crawling call us, if your seeing your turf become discolored at all call us. If we get the lawn sprayed quick enough we can keep the lawn from being completely destroyed. You can always wait it out for regrowth but with the heat moving in, it will be a long recovery process on these lawns without treatment.

Good morning from Vitalawn. We will be closed today thru Monday, everyone enjoy your Labor Day weekend. Anyone with bare areas in shaded areas, please start thinking about calling next week and getting on our fall oversees list. We’ll start overseeding lawns in a couple weeks, as temps look to cool off and the fall moisture should be coming in. Did you know one of the single most important things you can do for a healthy lawn is core aeration? Core aeration allows water, nutrients and oxygen to easily flow into the root zone of your turf. Most don’t realize how compact the lawn becomes over the years from travel and earth vibrations. Not only the compaction but the lawn thatch, yes that thick dead layer that lays beneath the green and the dirt. That’s thatch and unfortunately when watering the lawn, it causes us to water twice as much to get through the thatch and into the root zone. If your noticing that your watering more and more and it doesn’t seem to help as much, give us a call and get on the schedule.
