Putting away your pool supplies for winter? Here's one thing worth checking.

Pool chemicals should be stored in their original, labeled containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location, safely away from children and pets.

Keep incompatible chemicals, especially chlorine and acid, separated. Never mix different pool chemicals.

A few precautions now can help keep your home and family safe throughout the off-season.

Still keeping your pool open as the weather cools?

Even when nobody is swimming, your water still needs attention. Keep an eye on chlorine and pH levels, remove falling leaves, and maintain proper circulation.

And if you're getting ready to close, properly balanced water is an important part of preparing your pool for winter.

Need help with fall maintenance or closing? We're happy to talk through your options.

Losing more pool water than usual?

A dropping water level, unexplained wet spots around the pool, a pump running more often, or unusual equipment sounds can all be signs that something besides evaporation is going on.

Catching a leak early is usually a lot easier than dealing with the damage later.

Why are so many homeowners considering fiberglass pools?

They offer a smooth, non-porous surface, lower maintenance needs, excellent durability, and typically a faster installation process than many people expect.

The right pool isn't just about how it looks. It's about choosing something that fits the way you want to use and maintain it.

Closing a pool for winter is more than putting the cover on.

Proper winterization includes protecting the equipment and plumbing, preparing the water, blowing out lines, and securing the pool for colder weather.

Done correctly now, it can make opening the pool next spring a whole lot easier.

New Life Pools Nashville offers professional pool closing services throughout the Middle Tennessee area.

Quick pool maintenance reminder:

Check your skimmer and pump baskets regularly.

When they get clogged, water flow drops and your pump has to work harder than it should. Checking and clearing them a couple of times a week only takes a few minutes and can help prevent a much more expensive problem later.
