Pergolas and Gazebos? ✅️

A few weeks ago I helped a good friend of mine assemble and install his 10'x20' Purple Leaf pergola gazebo.

This was no easy task. First, we had to disassemble and remove his existing 10x10 pergola. We then had to slightly modify the deck to fit the new 10x20 monster!

We noticed the top deck rails were overhanging 1½" on the inside of the deck at both ends - making them flush mounted on the outside. To correct the issue, we un screwed the top rails and moved them to where they were now flush on the INSIDE, and the 1½" overhang was now on the OUTSIDE. This combined 3" was all we needed to fit the new gazebo. Problem solved 💪

Last was the new build. The roof framing was by FAR the biggest challenge with just 2 people. But screwing several railroad ties together with 7 inch screws, and securing this unit to a sturdy ladder platform gave us the height we needed to get all the roof framing put together. It was smooth sailing after that! Attaching the roof panels, gutter system, curtains & netting and mounting it to the deck was a breeze!

All in all the entire project took 3 full days. But it turned out amazing! Now I want one of my own 🤣😏

Its truly amazing what a good pressure wash can do for exterior concrete and pavers! It is without a doubt, the most under rated and most forgotten about service that we offer! Yet somehow every pressure wash we perform brings up the phrase "night n day difference" at the end of the project.

The curb appeal on this front porch is now striking. The cleanliness of their fire pit area makes it look brand new again, and the transformation of their back patio is just insane!

I truly encourage each and every one of you to experience an exterior clean. It REALLY IS one of those things that you "didn't know you needed" until you see the difference at the end. We thank the Williamson family for testing this theory, and for choosing us!

Many thanks to the Kjorvestad family of Lebanon for choosing us to do this big project for them. Safe to say we were rockin' last Friday!

The Kjorvestads creek that flows through the bottom of their yard had irrational water flow - which was causing erosion in certain spots. We came up with a solution to fix both issues 😎.

We started by trimming back all overgrowth above the creek to make digging easier. We then used our Dingo to dig the creek 3 inches deeper all the way down. The several big rocks we found while digging were set off to the side to be used later. Once everything was dug out, we compacted the creek bed, compacted the banks, compacted the big rocks we found up against the bank, and laid 7 tonnes of River Rock along the creek bed floor.

Come the next rainy season, the Kjorvestads will have the fastest and straightest flowing creek in town 😁

A huge thanks goes out to the Young family of Maineville for choosing us to tackle their landscaping!

It took us 3 visits to complete everything, but we eventually got over the finish line 🫡

First visit: we cut all 12 Yew bushes down to ground level in preparation for the stump grinder, and hauled everything away.

Second visit: used a stump grinder to grind down all 12 Yew stumps. We then removed roughly 3 tonnes of mulch and dirt build up from over the years in preparation for some fresh mulch.

Third visit: we trimmed all bushes, trimmed their Japanese Maple and pulled w**ds. We then laid down w**d mat in all beds and laid 5 yards of fresh black dye mulch.

Big curb appeal gains! 💪

As a company, we're not afraid to back down from a challenge 😉. We did our first retaining wall last week (as a company) in blazing hot temperatures. And we have to say...it turned out like the weather - sizzling 🔥.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Stahl family of Lebanon for giving us this opportunity. The Stahls were great to work with, and their patience and generosity was incredible throughout.

We would also like to thank Creech's Lawn Landscape & Garden Center for their assistance in supply procurement, and to answer the questions we had before and along the way. Finally, a big "Thank you" goes out to Ryan Hauser for assisting us in cutting and fitting the caps for this wall of art!

Oh, I almost forgot...we also pulled w**ds and laid a yard of fresh black dye mulch 😉

Big thanks to the Purdin family of Lebanon for trusting us with their landscaping today!

We started off by pulling the w**ds in all beds. We then removed 2 large shrubs: one that was on the side of the house covering both sides of the fence, and one that was on the other side on the corner just outside their fence. All bushes got a shave, followed by us trimming several trees - including their Japanese maple. We added some granulated w**d preventer, watered it in, and topped everything off with almost 2 yards of fresh black dye mulch.

We hauled away almost 2 full trailer loads of overgrowth. This was definitely on the bigger side of transformations, but the results were well worth it 😎.

Video 1: The Hayes family of Liberty Township asked us to lay 1½ yards of mulch for them last week. Thank you for your business, Kristen 😎

Video 2: We built this 40x20 deck for the Silver family of Lebanon 2 years ago. Since then their deck has been stained and they wanted us to prep the outer perimeter for plants. So we dug it all out, put a deep edge on it, added some rocks to aid the sump pump drainage, and topped the new beds off with a yard and a half of "super soil." Happy planting, Jessica 😁

Video 3: Thank you to Joe Kern of Lebanon. Joe wanted the landscaping at the front of his property freshened up. So we pulled all w**ds and laid almost 2 yards of fresh black dye mulch.

Its been an unbelievably busy year so far. Thank you for all who have chosen us 😀

We salute YOU, SSGT Jon Ellen, for your current and past service, and we also salute YOU, Kayla, for holding down the fort while your husband has continued to serve our country. This project is for you guys!

Much like the military, this project was all about team work. While S.O.S performed the transformation (and donated the cost of the labor), this wouldn't have been possible without some very generous donations from others. We would like to thank the following people:

This project is a reminder that teamwork is extremely powerful. When good people come together to tackle a common goal, anything is possible. And we did our best to represent this powerful outcome by planting several shrubs strategically in the ground to showcase the flag of this great country 😎

I can't say it enough: thank you to those who are serving and those of you who have served! The lives we all live just wouldn't be possible without you guys.

"I keep seeing you around and I've been meaning to call you," said Jacob Smith of Lebanon. The state of Jacob's landscaping wasn't sitting well with him, and he wanted some help getting it back to square one. So he finally called us 😉. And we went to work. We:

- Pulled all w**ds
- Edged all his mulch beds to give them more definition
- Trimmed the big magnolia tree by the garage to give it some shape, and to keep it away from the house
- Pulled 4 dead Boxwoods from the front bed
- Pulled 7 small Mulberrry trees from under the deck and far side of the house
- Trimmed the 4 remaining boxwoods out front
- Trimmed his Japanese Maple out front
- Trimmed his Blue Spruce bush out front
- Laid down some Preen Extended Control throughout all mulch beds and watered it in
- Put down some grass seed and watered it in
- Laid 2 yards of fresh black dye mulch, and finally:
- Performed a full service mow

We have to say: this is one of the biggest transformations we've ever done, and it turned out great. Jacob was thrilled with it, also 😎
