Mallory Valley Utility District assumed their 30-inch intake line was operating steadily. Pressure data told a different story. Every time a large pumping station shut down, the system was experiencing repeated 10 to 15 PSI spikes from hydraulic shocks that no one knew were happening.

With that data documented, their team identified a water hammer event before it occurred avoiding a major water line break and massive water loss.

Customers at lower elevations were experiencing pressures as high as 177 PSI, while customers located 140 feet higher experienced pressure challenges during high-flow events.
