The floors make the Home! The elegance and beauty of real hardwoods is second to none. These floors are over 100years old and original to the house. The main floor has a white oak top nailed strip flooring. The staircase has Maple stair treads. The 2nd floor has old growth Fir hardwoods installed on the joists. We did some repairs upstairs and refinished all the floors. It took a lot of sanding to get down to the wood. These floors needed a makeover, nothing comes back to life like real hardwood flooring. They chose an Early American stain color for everything. Some finishing touches left to do on the remodel but these floors are good to go for another 100years. ProCoat finish is the perfect icing on top to give these floors maximum protection!

JL Hardwood Flooring Restorations will be closing. I have taken a new position with ProCoat! ProCoat is the best hardwood floor finish in the game and its 100% American made! We had been using Procoat finishes on all of our floors for a couple years now. My new position is the Technical sales rep for 7 states. This old farm house is about 150years old. These are original Poplar hardwoods. They had the same carpet and pad covering them up for over 60years. In 1 week we brought them back to life! The hardwoods had 2 layers of thick paint on them that was very difficult to sand off. We also refinished an old Oak staircase. They went with an Early American stain color and a Satin finish. ProCoat Finish for the win!

This home was built in the 1890's. These original Pine hardwoods needed to be given new life! We did that. The first floor and staircase had original Pine hardwoods. We refinished them to a Golden Oak stain color and topped them with ProCoat Paragon Satin finish. The upstairs hallway had random width White Oak hardwoods with Walnut plugs in them. They just went with a Natural water-based finish on them. What a difference 1 week can make for your home that can now last another 100years.

We had the opportunity to refinish this one of a kind floor. This floor has 7 different species of wood in it. There is so much color and wood structure variations in this floor. We also added a black filler into the existing knot holes. They went with a Natural water-based finish in a Satin sheen to showcase all the different woods. Very cool floor.

We gave this Broadripple home a custom floor. We first removed existing carpet and vinyl floors. Then we removed all the old baseboards. Then we did a custom installation. These are character 4 inch White Oak hardwoods with Walnut in the 3 row border. The entryway is end grain White wood with a black grout. They chose Early American Stain color topped with a Satin finish. Beautiful one of a kind hardwoods. We also added new taller baseboards before the final coat of finish. Best update you can do for your home is the Hardwoods!

We finished the floors in this home about a month ago. They decided they wanted the staircase to match the floors....we can do that. We had to first remove the spindles and bottom posts to demo the old staircase. We then cut in all new White Oak stair treads. We stained and finished the treads then installed them. We re-installed the spindles and posts and then put a final coat of finish on the stairs once in place. All ready for painting now. We also had to repair some areas in the kitchen that were damaged during appliance delivery.

This Saturday and Sunday while the Thorntown Public Library was closed, we fixed the floors. We only recoated this floor. The existing finish was bubbling, flaking off and peeling. It was also extremely shiny. We had to buff the floor much more aggressively than a typical recoat to remove any of the flaking finish. We then buffed in a cleaning agent called Bona Prep. It promotes bond adhesion for recoats. We put 2 coats of finish on. The first coat of sealer had an additive that makes the finish bond better as well. The 2nd coat of finish had a Satin sheen and it had a hardener additive for extra durability in commercial spaces. Recoating the floors as opposed to refinishing keeps all the patina in the 110 year old pine floors while making the surface nice again. Long weekend but big results.

This home just got new hardwoods in the living room. We also recoated the kitchen floors. We did a repair in the entryway where a closet was removed and then we recoated the entryway and hallway. We added transition strips and shoemolding too. Not bad for 2 days. New rental hitting the market soon.

This was a big project. We removed tile and backer board from the sunroom in this home. We removed some prefinished hardwood flooring from the master bedroom, master closet and a bathroom in the hallway. We then installed new Oak hardwood flooring in those areas lacing the new wood into the existing prefinished hardwoods. Then we refinished all the hardwoods on the main level. They choose a medium brown stain with a Satin finish. A lot of work for a big transformation.
