🌟 AMI SUCCESS STORIES | Meet Skylie! 🌟

Sometimes the biggest opportunities start with a leap of faith.

When Skylie decided to pack up her life in New York and move to Tennessee, she was chasing a dream. After discovering AMI Construction, she took a chance on a company that promised to "Put People First, Always." From her very first interview, she knew there was something special about the people and culture at AMI.

And we couldn't be happier that she took that chance!

Skylie joined our accounting team during one of our busiest seasons, right in the middle of a major ERP system transition. Talk about jumping straight into the deep end!

But instead of backing down, Skylie embraced the challenges. She's taken ownership of payment applications, collections, job costing, and become our go-to person for all things cost codes. She's helped improve processes, trained others, and grown into a confident problem-solver who doesn't just bring questions — she brings solutions.

And somewhere along the way, she also became AMI's Official Lunch Announcer. Because apparently getting lunch delivered is an event worthy of a company-wide announcement!

At AMI, we believe in investing in the right people. We don't expect everyone to walk through our doors knowing everything. We look for people with determination, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. In return, we're committed to providing the support, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Skylie is a perfect example of what happens when opportunity meets hard work.

One thing she admires most about our owner, Rusty McDonald, is his constant drive to think bigger and push AMI forward. That mindset has inspired her both personally and professionally.

As Skylie puts it, "If you have the opportunity to go big or go home... GO BIG!"

Good food, a little friendly competition, and a whole lot of AMI fun!

We recently held our AMI Tailgate Cookoff, where our team brought their best game-day dishes and competed for Best Appetizer and Best Entrée.

And apparently, Nancy did NOT come to play. She took home the win in BOTH categories! 🏆🏆

One of the things we love most about AMI is the culture we’ve built. We work hard, but we also make time to have fun together, laugh, compete, eat way too much good food, and enjoy the people we work alongside every day.

Congratulations, Nancy — officially undefeated at the AMI Tailgate Cookoff! 🎉

Big congratulations are in order! 🎉

Our President/CEO, Rusty McDonald, has been named a 2026 Nashville Business Journal C-Suite Awards winner. The award recognizes Nashville's top executives for their leadership and their impact on our business community.

What a year it's been for the AMI family. We were named one of Middle Tennessee's fastest-growing companies for the second year in a row, and we've done it while holding on to the culture, quality and values that got us here.

Anyone who knows Rusty knows how he's done it. Take care of your people, do things the right way, and the growth will follow.

25 years later, we still remember.

September 11th is more than a date in history. It’s a reminder of the lives that were lost, the families who never got to welcome someone home, and the first responders who ran toward danger when everyone else was running away.

It’s also a reminder of what Americans can be for one another. In the days that followed, people showed up. They helped their neighbors, supported strangers, and stood together.

At AMI, putting people first is at the heart of who we are. Today especially, we’re reminded that community matters, people matter, and taking care of one another matters.

We remember the lives lost. We honor the heroes. And we will never forget

Our best sales pitch has always been the work we leave behind.

We don't have a traditional sales team here at AMI — our growth has come from quality work, honest communication, and relationships that turn into repeat customers and referrals.

We recently got this testimonial from a client after we finished their parking lot project in August, and it's exactly the kind of feedback that makes this job worth it.

Show up. Do what you say you're going to do. Take care of the customer. Exceed expectations. When you do that consistently, people notice — and they tell their friends and neighbors.

It’s official: Nashville Business Journal names AMI one of Middle Tennessee’s fastest-growing companies — AGAIN.

Last year, we made the list. This year, we proved we belong on it.

AMI Construction has been named the #12 Fastest-Growing Company in Middle Tennessee by the Nashville Business Journal!

Making the Fast 25 once is an accomplishment. Making it two years in a row says something bigger.

Of the 25 companies recognized this year, only two were repeat winners from last year — and AMI was one of them. Even more impressive, AMI was the only construction company from last year’s list to earn a spot again this year.

And we’ve done it without borrowing a single dollar.

Our growth has been built the same way we build everything else: through hard work, smart decisions, an incredible team, loyal customers and a commitment to doing things the right way.
