Installation of another portable backup generator interlock system. You can have power back on your house in about 15 minutes in a power outage. Depending on your generator size you can run lighting and refrigerators with no issues.

The service drop from the pole to the house is required to be 12' above a yard, 16' above a driveway and 8'8" above a walkable roof(4/12or less pitch). Since the previous home owner added this enclosed porch it violated the requirements. Also, interior panel was a split bus panel, which is not considered the code worthy nowadays. So the whole service was required to be brought to present day code. This required installing an exterior safety disconnect which I use a meter Main and installing a new interior subpanel. Older panels were 13 inches wide, standard stud spacing is 16 inches on center which is 14 1/2 inches inside dimension. New panels are made to be 14 1/4 inches wide. Which allows them to fit inside the stud spacing. This situation is studying was not wide enough so the new panel had to be surface mounted.

Customer calls saying that the pool pump breaker tripped and will not reset. GFCI breakers are designed to trip if moisture or water come in contact with the electrical current. When I pulled the breaker out of the panel water actually dripped from the breaker. Out door panel's are listed as rain proof, not water proof or weather proof. With that being said the panel cover must be closed to achieve the rain proof rating. The customer@had been leaving the cover up which allowed rain to come in contact with the breaker.

Customer without power for three days thinking it was a utility company issue. Turns out fell on the Service line at the mast and broke it. Which made this her responsibility for knowledge the utility company and overhead services I irresponsible two in the house. Everything is the homeowner responsibility so make sure what your issue is so you're not waiting for the utility company when it's your responsibility.

Nothing is ever as easy as it seems. Original post rusted and broke so the customer made a splint to ensure the wire did not get damaged. A much better quality post installed.
