Fall leaves pile up fast around the outdoor unit.

That unit needs open space to move air. Leaves, pine straw, and yard debris packed against the sides or sitting on top make it work harder than it should. Rake it clear and keep about two feet of open space around it. If debris has fallen down inside the unit, let us handle that part.

The first time the heat kicks on each fall, you'll probably smell it.

That's usually dust that settled on the furnace or heat strips over the summer burning off. It should fade on its own fairly quickly. If the smell hangs around, smells electrical, or comes back every time the heat runs, turn it off and give us a call.
