Have you noticed your water pressure isn't quite what it used to be?
Maybe your shower feels weaker than normal. Maybe the kitchen faucet seems to have more pressure one day and less the next. Or maybe you've noticed water coming out a little too forcefully throughout the house.
One possible culprit is your Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV).
A PRV is designed to regulate the water pressure coming into your home and protect your plumbing system from excessive pressure. Like any mechanical component, it can wear out over time.
When that happens, you may experience:
✔ Low water pressure
✔ High water pressure
✔ Pressure that seems to fluctuate throughout the day
✔ Noisy pipes or fixtures
Many homeowners don't realize they even have a PRV until it starts causing problems.
That's one reason our technicians check water pressure during service visits. Catching a failing PRV early can help protect your faucets, toilets, water heater, appliances, and plumbing system from unnecessary wear and tear.
