Ornamental W**d Control Treatment *New in 2012*
This preventive treatment controls w**ds that can come up in landscape beds, mulched areas and in rocky areas. Creates a barrier to prevent w**ds while not damaging surrounding landscape. Typically done as early as February and March depending on soil temperature and most areas require 2-3 treatments a year. Preventative Grub Control Treatment
This preventive treatment controls several species of grubs and is highly suggested for yards with high sunlight levels. Our service aims to provide season long preventative protection from one of the most destructive pests. Typically this application is applied in conjuncture with the Late Spring Treatment Application. Lime Control Treatment
The soil in many areas has an acid tendency. The availability of nutrients to the grass plant is affected by the level of soil acidity (measured in terms of pH). Liming your lawn corrects the acidity level in your lawn (raise pH) and gives you a better lawn. Key factors influencing effective w**d control:
The fertilizer we apply becomes more available to your grass
Fewer w**ds because many w**ds grow best in acid soils
Correcting the acidity level of your soil reduces Thatch build-up
Root development of your grass is enhanced
Fungus and Disease Control
Diseases often occur in late spring. These additional services are charged based on the chemical and amount needed. Fungicide do not restore green grass, they stop further infection. In some cases damaged and diseased grass will not be able to be restored until fall seeding can occur. Preventive applications are available and extend the rich, green look of your spring lawn. Contact KC Bluegrass if you are interested in these preventive applications. Common Turf Grass Diseases:

Lawn renovation services:
Aeration
Small plugs of turf and soil are removed from the ground. This is the single most important thing that can be done to any lawn and should be done yearly. Benefits from aeration/cultivation:
Increases gas exchange in soil
Improves wetting of dry soils
Accelerates drying of wet soils
Stimulates root growth in the holes
Increase shoot growth atop the holes
Creates disruption of layers
Controls thatch
De-compacts the soil
Improves response to fertilizer ***
Aeration and over-seeding
In conjuncture with aeration seed is applied to the yard, falling down into newly created plugholes. This is method is used on lawns that are decent and do not need much new seed to be sown. Verticutting and over-seeding
This is a radical approach to completely rejuvenate a lawn. Much of the existing turf will be damaged with the verticut process. This process is for lawns that are in very poor condition. This is basically a "starting over" approach
