CANTilevered Deck Repair? Yes we CAN!

This deck had significant wood rot when TME was asked to help. The residence was going on the market and this glaring issue needed repair.

Cantilevered decks need to be supported 2x as long internally as they project externally. We removed the garage door and drywall in the garage ceiling to access the framing and properly rebuilt this cantilever. The sagging garage frame was repaired, garage door reinstalled, and sheetrock finished on the inside. A bit of Marlon's Magic Welding on the rail connecting the two decks, and this deck was ready to present itself to it's future owner.

We were given the opportunity to revitalize the south side of this home. Lots of heat and changing seasons contributed to a wood rot problem. To resolve the issue, we replaced the rotted batten board, siding panels, garage door frame, and entry door with fresh products. We used our ColorMatch technology to get the right paint color which allowed us to prime and paint to match rest of the house.

We were invited back to work at Missouri Town. This is our sixth project completed in this Jackson County Parks and Rec property that is committed to capturing life in the mid 1800s. Modern carpentry procedures become obsolete when you are building on a stone foundation. Fortunately we have the teams and experience to handle just about any project.

We had the opportunity to work with a great homeowner on a deck that had pulled an inch away from the home. Thankfully our employee workmen have the carpentry and trade skills to handle such an involved project. This home is fixed properly and good to go for the longhaul!
