It is Friday once again and we have another great Friday spotlight to share! Today we are spotlighting Tyler! Referred to Beacon by his good friend, and now co-worker, Jacob, Tyler came to us with little to no concrete experience, but we could tell right away that he brought a great work ethic, a willingness to learn and a desire to grow. Let’s learn a little more about Tyler!

Q1: What got you into the industry?
A1: “I worked at several warehouses over the years. My best friend works here at Beacon and he has always tried to get me to work here. So, after being just a number at these warehouse jobs, I wanted to work for a company that truly values their employees. I saw the employee spotlights on Facebook and decided that it was a culture that I wanted to be a part of. So, I applied and got the job and haven’t looked back since.”
Q2: What do you like most about working at Beacon?
A2: “The comaraderie, and everyone here is always eager to help me learn the tricks of the trade, along with the ability to grow.”
Q3: What’s the one tool you can’t work without?
A3: “My Knife.”
Q4: What’s your guilty pleasure food?
A4: “Cheesecake!”
Q5: What helps you unwind after a long day?
A5: Watching dirt track racing!”

This week’s spotlight shines on Tyler, and it’s easy to see why. His foremen and peers describe him as someone who is always on time (often early), a quick learner, and one of the hardest workers on the team. Tyler has earned a reputation as a true culture fit—his great attitude, thoughtfulness, and willingness to share (especially when he brings in treats) make him someone everyone enjoys being around. In addition to working two jobs, he also has a really awesome car that everyone else is secretly jealous of!
Outside of work, Tyler enjoys hunting and fishing, and he brings that same focus and dedication into everything he does here at Beacon. We’re proud to have him on the team!

We've got another great Friday Spotlight for you! Today we are spotlighting Cameron! Another young man with a passion for building things and working with his hands. He came referred to us by his Uncle, Jared Ory. Jared said, “You’re going to like this kid. He is a hard worker.” And boy, he wasn’t lying! Let’s get to know Cameron a little.

Q1: What got you into this industry?
A1: “I did interior and exterior work throughout high school. Concrete was a different trade that excited me because it was something different and it also allowed me to work with my hands. So, I started out working for a guy helping him do concrete about a year ago, but wanted to learn more and do more on a bigger scale”.
Q2: What do you like most about working at Beacon?
A2: “The People”.
Q3: What’s the one tool you can’t work without?
A3: “My headphones”.
Q4: What’s your guilty pleasure food?
A4: “Sushi”.
Q5: What helps you unwind after a long day?
A5: “Hunting”.

We’re excited to welcome Cameron, better known as “Cookie,” to the Beacon team. Fresh out of high school, Cameron has already proven himself to be a great fit with an outstanding attitude. He’s a quick learner who stays busy, is always asking questions, and shows eagerness to try something new. Known for his strong work ethic, Cameron doesn’t shy away from the tough jobs—often stepping up to do the work no one else wants to tackle. We’re looking forward to watching Cookie grow and thrive with our team. If you want to know why we call him cookie, just ask him! He'll tell ya.

Happy Friday! Today we are spotlighting Julian! Julian came to Beacon just barely out of high school with a small amount of residential concrete experience. He expressed a desire to improve his skills and to learn more about the commercial side of the industry. Without further ado, let’s get to know Julian a little better!

Q1: What got you into this industry?
A1: “I worked for my family’s concrete company for a couple of years, then I went and tried doing warehouse work, but realized I really enjoyed concrete so I wanted to get back into the field. I applied at Beacon and never looked back.”

Q2: What do you like most about working at Beacon?
A2: “Getting to learn the tricks of the trade.”

Q3: What’s the one tool you can’t work without?
A3: “My hammer!”

Q4: What’s your guilty pleasure food?
A4: “Sno balls!”

Q5: What helps you unwind after a long day?
A5: “Taking a nap.”

We’re excited to welcome Julian to the Beacon Contracting team. From day one, he has shown a great attitude and has proven to be a quick learner who asks the right questions. Julian has already demonstrated that he’s a great fit for our culture—punctual, motivated, and steadily coming out of his shell. We see him as an up-and-comer with strong potential, and we’re looking forward to watching him grow with the team.

Good Morning Everybody! TGIF! Have we got a special one for you today! Every company has that one person who works behind the scenes that keeps everything going on a daily basis. That one person who navigates their day based on what needs to be done because they get pulled in so many different directions…everything from being in charge of HR, payroll, Admistration duties to talking with our customers, vendors, our employees… and EVERYTHING in between… well… that person for us is Tera! Tera is our Business Administrator! This woman is non stop from the time she shows up to work to the time she goes home with a big smile on her face! She’s compassionate with everyone she encounters because she’s wants the best for everybody no matter who you are! With all of that being said, let’s dive in to her questions!

Q1: What got you into A/R and administration?

A1: “ I started working for Beacon in 2011 and I've been doing HR/Payroll/Adminstration, let’s just say for a long time 😉. I heard about the position from a friend who actaully worked for Beacon. She told Don about me, I interviewed and started right away!”

Q2: What is your favorite thing about working at Beacon?

A2: “The atmosphere and people for sure. Another great thing about working for Beacon
is the opportunities that employees have to advance their careers!”

Q3: What is one thing you can't work without?

A3: “My dual screens and computer!”

Q4: What is your favorite food?

A4: “I'm super boujee, so I love a good chicken strip and fries” 🤣

Q5: What helps you unwind after a long day?

A5: “Relaxing at home with my family or doing anything with my big kids and now getting to enjoy time with my sweet grand baby!”

Tera, we could write a book about the things you do for Beacon, our employees, and anyone you encounter… I say this for all of us… Thank You! Thank You for being the first smiling face you see when you walk into the office, taking phone calls all day long, making sure everybody has what they need, especially at the times they need it! We wouldn’t be Beacon without YOU! We are very blessed to know that we have your support from behind the scenes each and everyday!
