This house!… Each detail has been a thoughtful dive into history and then a labor of love to execute. Has anyone else found hidden secrets behind walls when remodeling? We needed to cut through this wall to run plumbing and found an open room. The roof slope cut into this space making it perfect for littles. This kind of find needed a whimsical entrance in Hollywood Gold BM. Second picture is of another fun space from our project. This one we knew about and wanted to make it a special place for a special person...under the stairs. No, it wasn’t for Harry Potter but she does a lot of reading 🙂⚡️

I’m not sure what’s been the harder adjustment coming back from Thailand. 13hr time difference😑 or coming back to winter🥶. Coming back to this scene and our sweet kids makes the adjustment worth it.
Admittedly, when remodeling our house, I loved imagining what holidays would look like here.. it’s what I looked forward to the most. I’m a firm believer in the saying:"We shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us."-Churchill.

It’s nice when basement kitchens can be a good backdrop for parties and get togethers and also have the ability to be a full kitchen when someone’s there to stay for a while. This was the goal with this one and I’m excited how it turned out. A lot of details and finishes that I got to help the owners pick out. Combined with excellent interior decoration and it’s a win!

“To build a fine traditional house isn't that much more of an effort than to make a mess of it.” - Marianne Cusato. Couldn’t have said it better myself, although this is easier said then done sometimes. It can be difficult, especially when working with guys that are geared to cranking out homes quick and dirty. I can really appreciate those skilled tradesmen and craftsman who get excited to try something new, study the details, and create something beautiful. 🙌🏼🔨👍🏼
