Grow Your Own Citrus

Grow Your Own Citrus Sharing my passion for growing citrus trees. Education, information, citrus trees and supplies.

I am a citrus lover who is local to the Leland North Carolina area. A couple years ago I was blessed with an opportunity to work with a friend to help him with his online citrus nursery business and have since then become passionate about growing citrus here in Coastal North Carolina. lly can Grow Your Own Citrus here in Coastal NC. We are partnered with Madison Citrus Nursery, a dedicated USDA Certified citrus nursery located in Southern GA about 7.5 hours from here. As a result of working with them, I am excited to be able to offer you high quality, cold hardy citrus trees, as well as professional how-to information on how to grow your own citrus trees.

Keep in mind with the cold weather coming on Monday night and Tuesday, if you have lemons or limes you should plan on bringing them in to keep them warm. If you have any younger trees in ground you will want to protect them. You can use a 5 gallon bucket of water put next to the tree and everything covered with a moving blanket to make a microclimate for the night.

I was out bringing a few trees to someone and saw a Lemonade sign waving on the side of Village Rd... now im a sucker for good lemonade and I think we need more lemonade stands around.

Im thankful these business ladies were willing to barter. One less lemon tree delivered... but this Meyer lemon tree will start to make some great lemonade in a year or two!

Thank you for the lemonade!

If your tree is smaller you can use a 5 gallon bucket of water and wrap them or even a 5 gallon bucket of water and then flip a trash can over the top of them to create a barrier.

Not everyone can enjoy living in a place that has balmy winters where in ground citrus still thrive and not everyone has a greenhouse to have their trees gro...
