Our Water Heaters Are Reconditioned by Me, Roddy Klinnert, A Texas State Licensed Master Plumber With 60 Years of Water Heater Troubleshooting & Repair Experience.

What does "RECONDITIONING" a water consist of?? See my 12-step process below so you know what you're getting with our Reconditioned water heaters!!

1: It's stripped of the controls & heating devices
2: It's placed in the test pit and filled with water to 90% full then topped off with air to 140 PSI for a 24-36 hour pressure test to determine if the tank is solid and make sure it does not leak. Most cities water pressure is 50-70 PSI therefore I pressure test each tank at double that, 140 PSI for your safety and a long term tank life span..
3: If it fails the 140 # test, it goes to a scrap pile!!
4: If it passes the 140 # test, the tank is flushed with a 2000 PSI pressure washer using a special "high speed rotating turbo tip" inserted through the Anode Rod opening at the top of the water heater tank to break up & flush out any sediment & calcium deposits giving us a clean, pressure tested water tank to work with.
5: All of the pipe threads where control devices are installed are cleaned, inspected & re-tapped to assure that all controls & safety devices are properly fitted & sealed tight with Teflon Tape assuring there are no water leaks when installed.
6: A new Anode Rod & 2-new Dielectric ni***es are installed on the top side using Teflon Tape as a sealant & tightened to proper torque using a "preset trip setting" Torque Wrench.
7: The water heater is then laid down horizontally on a table & the bottom removed to clean & inspect the combustion air metal intake filters on gas water heaters, then clean the burner chamber and also remove any major dents in the lower outer skin of the water heater and reinstall the bottom using new hex head self tapping screws.
8A: Gas water heaters get the control valve and the complete burner assembly cleaned & bench tested for function as well as accuracy and repaired if needed prior to installation back in the water heater burner chamber. The control valve and burner assembly are then re-tested again to insure correct operational function in your home.
8B: Electric water heaters automatically get both heating elements replaced with new heating elements even if the old ones are still working and the internal electrical wiring checked for insulation safety. Both the upper & lower water temperature thermostats are tested for function and tight seating against the water tank and are replaced if needed.
9: A new brass drain valve is installed in place of the cheap plastic drain valve that never worked.
10: A new T&P (Temperature & Pressure) safety relief valve is installed for safety purposes.
11: The water heater outer skin is cleaned as best we can with a special proprietary solution.
12. All model and serial number identifying information plus individual specifications are recorded on the shop reconditioning work order and then recorded in our computer system with our individual 4-digit Identification number added to the water heater outer skin with a magic marker for tracking and warranty purposes allowing me to know exactly what water heater you have and how it's equipped in case you need me to troubleshoot it on the phone later on down the road. The buyer (your) name and our Identification number is added to that data base once the water heater is purchased by you.
This 12-step process listed above takes about 3-days start to finish as I want to make sure each water heater is as good as it can possibly be for your safety and to give you a long period of reliable, trouble free water heater service!!

I also stock & will ship to you if ever needed, hard to find repair parts for most brands of residential water heaters. If your water heater quits working & it's not leaking, it can usually be repaired saving you considerable cost over replacing it. I was reminded today by a friend in Clarendon of a lady in Howardwick that posted on Facebook that she was wanting to rent a trencher to dig 125 ft of ditch for a water line. I have a trencher however I don't rent it as the operator needs to be familiar with the machine to avoid tearing it up, getting wrapped up in it or getting crippled or killed.
"Have Trencher & Trailer, Will Travel"!!
I do dig for the public with it and backfill if you want me to. I have it for sale and it supposedly is sold via a verbal commitment however it's still mine to dig with as I wish until they come and pay for it. When it's gone, I own two more trenchers that I'm working on to get back out there with. If you need a trench dug, I'm usually available at my Lelia Lake Shop. 806-494-5000.

WHAT ABOUT RESIDENTIAL WATER HEATERS & REPAIR PARTS??
As a Texas State Licensed Master Plumber, I have been reconditioning & repairing customer owned Residential, Tank Type, Gas & Electric Water Heaters if the tanks don't leak for about the last 15 years!! I will also exchange your old water heater for one of my reconditioned units that's ready to go eliminating any waiting time as nobody wants to be without hot water or I'll sell you a reconditioned water heater outright with a warranty.

I repair and sell replacement burner assemblies & gas valves as well as new parts for most brands of water heaters in stock, ready to go. I'll do a FREE bench test on your controls if you bring them in for testing and make any needed repairs with your approval at a reasonable price saving you a lot of money over replacement costs. I recently helped a lady over the phone fix hers on site at no cost and she was upset because a plumber she called from Amarillo charged her a big service call fee to come to Clarendon and tell her she needed to replace her water heater at a cost of $3500.00 as it was beyond repairing!! I saw her at the Lumber Yard a few days ago and she said the one we repaired over the phone for free is still working great. Remember this, if it's not leaking water, it can most likely be fixed and placed back in service saving you a lot of money.

In this economy, it's certainly wisdom to get all the use out of an expensive appliance that a person can as long as it's still safe to operate before just jumping off the deep end and replacing it. I get a lot of equipment and water heaters coming in from my suppliers that have very little wrong with them however I go ahead and do a full reconditioning on them so I can guarantee them when I sell them.

Buying a used water heater online or one that someone just removed is certainly taking a big chance as people just don't normally replace a good working water for no reason!! That usually results in a person just spending their hard-earned money to purchase someone else's water heater problem(s)!!

There's no other shop anywhere that I'm aware of that offers reconditioned water heaters or repair parts at the low prices I have or none that offer the services or equipment and repair parts I have.

Regarding delivery service:
All this year, I offered free delivery within 100 miles of my shop. My records show that it didn't generate enough additional sales to cover the fuel costs or the time lost driving to make those deliveries therefore as of 10/01/2025, Deliveries will be charged as follows;

DELIVERY POLICY EFFECTIVE 10/01/2025:
Deliveries up to 20 miles are still Free.
Deliveries 21 miles up to 75 miles one way will be $50.00.
Deliveries over 75 miles are billed @ $1.00 mile one way.
Delivery mileage is Google calculated from our shop to the delivery address. If we have to wait at the delivery address over 15 minutes from our scheduled arrival time to unload, there is an additional charge of $10.00 for each 15 minutes of additional waiting time. Our time and services are what we sell in addition to our products. You will save money if you come and pickup your water heater when you purchase one.

UPDATE........ I listed all but one of the assorted portable generators I have for sale on an auction site that has bidders nationwide. I signed an agreement that doesn't allow me to sell them on my own now that they are consigned. If you were interested in one, PM me and I'll tell you when the auction begins and the auction site name where you can bid on the portable generator of your choice. The site includes a full description, many photos & videos of each generator being started and running. All are electric start with new batteries and also have optional pull rope start and all have been serviced and the outlets voltage tested. No junk on these units!! I tried to sell them locally however no one even asked to see them or inquired about pricing so now they are consigned and no longer available for me to sell outright.

I've got a lot of equipment to get ready to sell and my shop is too full right now plus the reconditioned water heater business is keeping me hopping. I will continue to advertise equipment on Facebook (Meta or whatever they choose to call themself from one week to the next) and if equipment doesn't sell over the counter locally then it will be sold to the highest bidder on the auction site.

I still service, repair and recondition pressure washers, air compressors, water transfer pumps and other small power equipment plus reconditioning both gas and electric household water heaters. I choose to work alone so nothing happens overnight however once I finally receive the parts (unless I have them in stock), I'll get er done!!

My shop Location is on the East end of (2nd) "Church" street in Lelia Lake just West of the Blue colored Cotton Gin scales located on FM 1754 and my shop is on the North side of Church street and there's a 4-ft X 4-ft sign out front of my dark blue metal shop building. Overhead doors open, I'm open, Overhead doors closed, I'm closed!! I'm gone for lunch daily and I'm also gone some delivering water heaters and power equipment to customers in other towns so calling to be sure I'm here is always a good idea before coming to the shop.

Sales tax is charged on all taxable sales unless buyer has a Texas sales tax resale number on file or an Ag use certificate on file with me. Tax rate in Lelia Lake is 06.25% which is 02% less than in town.

Today was my youngest son (Jason Brent’s) 53 birthday celebrated with Jesus on high. I miss that guy very much as he was a myriad of knowledge and figured out solutions faster than I ever could. Someday we’ll get together again and have a great reunion.
