Disconnect the hoses you used to wash the car this past week to keep your frostproof faucets from freezing and splitting over the next couple days.

Original water heater? If not, its close. House built in 1959. I think they got their money’s worth!

Please let faucets run tonight if you have ever had a freeze situation or suspect you could have a freeze up. Paying for the water will be inexpensive compared to an insurance deductible, let alone the mess and inconvenience after water damage. Also, it may be a few days before plumbers will be able to safely get to your house, into your driveway and into your house.

It’s that time again for my annual public service announcement.
If you have any pipes that are in the least bit subject to freezing, let the water run in the faucets. Keep your cabinet doors open, especially on the kitchen sink. Moving water does not freeze and paying for extra water is a lot cheaper than paying for water damage and a plumber!
Contrary to popular belief, plumbers, do not like going on frozen water pipe jobs, especially when we will be having 30 below windchill!

If you or a family member are sick or recently been sick, requiring you to stay home, that is NOT a good time to call a plumber or any other home service provider.
I have been wanting to post about this for some time, and now it has become a necessity.
We get way too many calls for service and when we arrive, we find that there is sickness in the house. The homeowner thinks that since they are home, they may as well get some things fixed. DON’T DO THAT. Please!
Especially now.
We all have ourselves and/or loved ones and other customers, that are vulnerable to life threatening complications if we contract COVID-19. Think before you call.
Also, out of mutual respect, we will not send a sick technician to your home.
We are all in this together!
Thank you.....

What do you do when you remove a faucet from an old sink and find the sink is rusted out? You go all McGyver on it. I used a plastic bin divider as a fender washer under the sink so I could tighten the faucet down. I sealed the faucet with silicone and there you go. Just like new!
