The 6 holes are precisely pre-drilled on 2.67-inch centers so the guard can be screwed through the high round portion of the panel rib. This device is mounted utilizing a minimum of four #14 roofing screws with neoprene washers. Additional fasteners may be used in the remaining holes if extra holding strength is desired. A foam gasket is supplied for installation between the guard and the panel, eliminating the need for glue or liquid sealant. The SnoCleat 2.67 features a large 4-inch-wide face fastened with two tek-screws. The face of the guard is specifically designed to accept an optional 4-inch-wide by 2-inch-tall color strip to match your roof.

The SnoCleat 2.67 is for screw-down applications only, and adhesive mounting of this guard is not recommended. Snow Guards used in just isolated roof areas such as chimneys, doorways, vents, and partial roof sections are not recommended. Mounting screws are sold separately. Snoblox-Snojax 50 Years of Firsts:

In 1976, what started as one man’s fix for rusty metal snow guards became fifty years of industry firsts: the first clear polycarbonate snow guard. The first glue-down for standing seam. The first waffled base. The first recycled snow guard. Then SnoBar, ColorBar, and RoofClamp came home in 2016 — and the SnoCleat RC and RCT became the newest firsts on the board.

⚠️ A serious reminder that roof avalanches can happen quickly and with devastating consequences.

Denver7 reported that two teenagers were injured at a home in Breckenridge, Colorado, after snow slid from the roof and partially buried them while they were playing outside. One of the teenagers was seriously injured.

We are sharing this story for customer education because roof avalanches remain a recurring hazard in mountain communities and other areas that receive heavy snow. Large accumulations can release during a storm or when temperatures rise rapidly.

Uncontrolled rooftop snow can threaten children, pets, visitors, vehicles, entrances, walkways, landscaping, utilities, gutters, and equipment below. People should minimize the time they spend beneath snow-loaded roofs and remain aware of conditions overhead.

A properly designed snow-retention system can help manage rooftop snow by holding it in place so it can melt and release more gradually.
